OMG you guys -- I just got my first 1CC!

Yes it's Novice Mode. But still. Finally. A 1CC.

I've been playing DDPR for weeks and loving it so much. Finally took the advice of Dave and Mike to try Novice Mode to work on scoring techniques, and got a 1CC on my first attempt today. It felt amazing. Novice or not. I can finally say I 1CC'd a game... a Cave game! 8)

EDIT: was searching the forum and it turns out I actually 1CC'd Gunbird 2 on Baby Mode last year, which I forgot. But pfft. Baby Mode.

First half of 2012:

Games Beaten = 20
DLC = 6

7/15 Max Payne 3 (360)
If you've never played a Max Payne game, never fear! This game is pretty standalone, with only the occasional nod to those who have played the previous titles. The story is gritty and has an over-the-top, heavily narrated style, that I think really suits the character. It feels like you're playing a Tony Scott-inspired game, words flash on the screen while people say them and again I think it fits with the style that Remedy initially envisioned for Max.

Gameplay is third-person, cover-based shooter, with a time-slowdown ability called "bullet-time." I believe that Max Payne was one of the first games to have this kind of time altering gameplay in a third-person shooter, but don't quote me on that. The older I get the more I realize, one of the things I love about these games is how the story is presented and plays out. Some things that might bother others (eg. long stretches of no gameplay, while you watch cinematics), I absolutely love. The gameplay is great too, there's a satisfying heft to the action.

The soundtrack and the way it was implemented is the real jewel of this game though. Thumping electronic melodies that ebb and flow with the action in the game. If you're blood isn't pumping with the grand finale and the way the music soars with the final shootout, I'd be shocked. Excellent game, that I couldn't put down, and didn't want to stop!
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Deus Ex Human Revolution: Missing Link

Fun stuff and that last 'boss' battle was really what I would have wanted to have done in the main game.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine

Very fun. The visual style of this 40k Universe looks cool especially the different armor parts for multiplayer. The accents threw me off guard. Multiplayer is fun. Didn't care much for the
QTE Final Boss Battle (So much building up to this battle and DAMN was I dissapoint)
Other than that, it was really fun.

I got the Platinum trophy for Lollipop Chainsaw. It's been a while since I've liked any game enough to go the distance with it like that. After doing so, I actually like the game even more than I did when I first beat it.

Nice Noise.

Beat Ninja Gaiden again after almost beating it on Saturday only to have died to Jaquio and turned off the game when it sent me to the very beginning of the stage. Think I'm confident enough to break out the stop watch again.

There are a few areas where I don't think you can avoid taking a hit, and starting in stage 5 there are moments when you can't go full throttle (damn bats). But, I think I can beat the game in possibly twenty minutes (no cut scenes).
