Super cheap, you probably have what I used lying around the house. Glue and paper. I could have done a better job if I spent more time on it. Really, it just needs to be sanded down so it's smooth and flush. I'll do that if I ever decide to respray it (which I wanna do) but right now that console needs a RAM transplant which probably wont happen any time soon.

Looks great, Ziggy!
What is the colour Krylon Fusion you used? Sat...? Satin, maybe?
I think it'd be cool to do a N64 this colour so it would match alongside my SNES and NES top-loader

It appears to have been free given the quality of the repair. I hate being a negative nancy all the time but I would have left it broken if that's how the repair turned out.....

He went through all that effort to restore the color but really cheaped out on fixing that broken piece....

Hey, I'll take putty over an exposed hole. Maybe the goop settled a little, the patch looks fine.

You're right, dude. I messed up. I'm sorry.

If you would have bothered to read the first post, you would know that I put the effort into it, it just didn't work out as well as I had hoped. I had an idea, I tried it, it didn't work out perfectly. No need to be so negative about it. If you bothered to read the first post, you would know that I had it looking pretty good, but after it all dried and cured it ended up looking like that. And if you would have bothered to read the last post I made in this thread (before this one) you would know that I said it would be really easy to fix up. All I really have to do is sand it down and respray it and it'll look as good as any one could make it.

But even as it is, I'll have to to disagree with you, it looks better than if I just left the crack. The light from the power on LED shined through the crack, which was really annoying, so at least that problem is solved.

Yeah, Satin. But that's not the color, that's just the sheen. I don't recall the name of the color. But it's a very, very light grey.

I'm actually not a big fan of painting consoles. I prefer them to look stock. It's just that this SNES was so ugly being yellowed, I opted to spray it.

PS, you guys realize this thread is 2 years old, right?

What is it about that corner that causes cracks and chips to appear so easily? I've seen many SNES with damage to that exact spot.

I think after the SNES yellows, the plastic can crack a lot easier. Like it becomes brittle or something. The corners seem to be more susceptible to this, due to the shape I guess. The front corners are, well, at the front, so they're more likely to take a hit from something.

Yup, once yellowed it starts getting brittle. I have the worst yellow bits from a few consoled collected with my messed up mobo. At least 2 of the screw posts/tunnels have broken off even though I was careful opening them up before switching.
