I was just gonna say "If you like Shatterhand check out Shadow of the Ninja."

S.C.A.T. is another great Natsume action title on the NES, despite the terrible name.

I was going to say that, if you like Shatterhand, check out Power Blade, Power Blade 2, and Vice: Project Doom. Both Power Blade games were also developed by Natsume. Vice: Project Doom was developed by another company, but since all of the games feature the likenesses of '80s action stars on their case art - and since all of them are awesome NES action games - I tend to group them together.

Games Beaten: 2012 2011 2010

I hadn't played Blue Shift since I picked it up the first time it was bundled in a GOTY package of the original HL, and man did it stir some fun memories. The NPCs are much more interesting than in the main game, the combat is a bit faster/tougher, and much of what I like about Half-Life really is distilled down into a short add-on very nicely. I am up in the air on playing Opposing Forces before the month is out (I prefer it to Blue Shift), but in any case this has been a great TR.

Tekken 6 is undoubtedly the best portable Tekken I've played to date - it looks gorgeous on the Vita screen and plays like a dream. That said, I found it to be tougher than any previous entry in the series...I admit I had to credit feed a bit on the final boss to get through arcade mode

Heh, I've been slacking lately, what with getting into Killing Floor(which I don't know how to consider "beaten"). I need to get on the ball and get through more SNES games. Maybe I'll take some more stabs at Batman Returns.

No Twisted Metal Black?

How do you classify TMB as beaten? I've cleared a few story levels, but do you need to clear the game 100% to claim it as beaten?

I started Black but lost steam.

Beaten = clear a story mode and see the credits. Completing the game 100% is another matter, but largely is just repetition of what you did to beat it the first time .

18. Pit-Fighter Genesis
19. Aladdin Genesis
20. Aladdin SNES
21. Ghosts n' Goblins NES, twice
22. Contra NES
23. Bionic Commando NES
24. Strider NES
25. Batman NES
26. Duck Tales NES
27. Ninja Gaiden NES x 2
28. Super Mario Bros. 3 NES
29. Lakers Vs. Celtics and the NBA Playoffs Genesis
30. Jackal NES
31. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! NES

Went ahead and defeated the game with every character to unlock all the endings. Most of the "stories" are meant to be, well, twisted, but they all come off as juvenile. Doesn't make the game any less fun though.

You are really crankin' them out this year compared to previous years. Any reason why?

For one, I'm actually keeping up with my list this year. Another reason is that I have more time to game. Not more free time, but more time to game. Explanation to that explanation:

My wife has basically taken over our Netflix queue, so when her movies come in, she watches them while I go and game. I've also stopped bringing my work home with me, so that has given me a few extra hours to game as well.

And lastly, I feel as if I have neglected some of my games. I have all these suckers, why not give 'em all another go around and try to beat them (again). And for me it's never about racking up a high number and I don't have a numbered goal, but you are right that I'm cranking them out in 2013.

Luke...I had the exact same reaction to Twisted Metal Black when I "completed" it a few years ago. I think that the game would have been much better if the developers had simply cut all of the cinematics. The gameplay is still great, however.
