Modding A Model 1 Saturn
Ok here is what ive done so far on modding the chip to fit my saturn.
I have just a few questions before I can finish the chip.
Im 99% sure I have everything soldered good and connected.
However one thing im not so sure about is where to splice into the chip to block off the connection paths,
and im not so sure on where to connect that red wire.
If anyone can lend me a hand it would be appreciated. Btw I did use
the guide found on this site and it did help me up till this point, it just
lacks some minor details.
My model 1 saturn:

Modded chip back view 2
Modded chip back view 3
Modded chip front view
Sorry about the picture sizes.

Well that sucks there arent more people who try modding this version.
I spliced all the necessary tracks like it shown in the guide and soldered the power wire.
It boots up and plays normal saturn games just fine, I dont have any copied games yet.
If it plays normal games with the modded chip in, shouldnt it play copied ones also?
Finished product....hopefully

It has been a while since I've modded model 1 saturns. They were a freakin' bitch!
Anyways, you haven't tested any backups? Well if it is playing normal games there is a REALLY high chance of it working. Normally when a mod fails (especially on the model 1), the saturn won't play games. Shit in the case of the Model 1 sometimes it won't even boot up if the mod failed.
Make a backup of one of your games you already own and test it out.

I just got done ripping a backup of nights to my computer as a .bin file I then switched the region code,
copied the .bin file to an .iso and burnt it to a cd-r using nero's burn image setting and the saturn still wouldnt boot it.
Regular games work fine still.
The traces I cut on the chip are in green. Also on the other side of the chip i cut 1 trace just above the 3rd pin (the one i soldered the wire to.

Ok I edited some of my posts upward that talk about burning games,
just to try to focus on modding this chip.
Ok when I left off on some posts upward I was able to play normal
Saturn games, but unable to play backups.
I took out my mod-chip and resoldered it and re-traced my splices,
I put the chip back in and boom-bam it boots up backups like a champ
I will be posting more pictures and hopefully give you guys a link for a video.
