i use nero 6 edition, but i can't figure out how to burn 4x!

when i follow the directions on the site to burn a saturn game, i only get 8x speed as the lowest option! i can't go any lower, why is that? is it because i use memorex 52x speed cd-rs?

could be the burner..i have a nec dvd burner and it wont go lower than 8x but dont worry 8x is slow enough for buring saturn or dreamcast games

It's your drive. Newer models have fairly high minimum speed limits. I can't go below 8x either, but I've never had an issue. The quality of the drives have probably increased over time anyways, and 8x isn't an issue if it's a newer model. Back in 1998, 8x might have been an issue though. I have a NEC DVD-+RW as well. Newegg is practically giving these things away for lunch money.
