Hi All,
Only joined today. I did a search for "Visual Pinball" but nothing came up. Does anyone use it?
Any Visual Pinball players?
Hi there. Any people wanting to play around with Visual Pinball take a look at some of the links below.
Remember with VP you can play recreations of classic tables from 1940's - 2000's (yes even some Stern tables have been done).

I LOVE retro ARCADE gaming from the 80’s and 90’s….and in my opinion pinball was a BIG part of the scene – If you agree then read on…….
I consider Visual Pinball a work of genius!!! (All praise Randy Davis). It’s gotta be nigh on the best way to play pinball at home without a table in your basement! (I can’t comment of the program Future Pinball - http://www.futurepinball.com – as my 4yo laptop is not really up to running at full speed – more’s the pity)
To those unfamiliar with pinball/pinball emulation I have posted some links at the bottom for anyone interested to explore further.
Visual Pinball allows successful emulation of classic titles from the ‘40’s through to the ‘90’s (possibly the Golden Age of Pinball) and beyond with some of Stern’s newer tables such as ‘Elvis’ & ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’ having been emulated.
Pinball fans have used the VP package to lovingly recreate their favourite (or now original) tables. These are then combined with the original ROMs running on PinMAME (perfectly recreating the DMD displays and sound effects of the original machines). Soooooo Cooooool
Some of my personal faves are those Williams/Bally-branded tables produced by WMS in the mid '90’s
(I’m still praying someone could write a fully-playable version of Pinball 2000 as I have never got to play ‘Revenge From Mars’)
Check out the screenshots of these classics running on VP – along with the WMS original promo vids for Arcade Operators!

There you can find a a link to Fantastic Install Pack - some tables – links to the VPForums, and more.
Another useful site is the IPDB (International Pinball Database):
http://www.ipdb.org/They have info on almost any table ever made – including: Photos, Design Info, ROMs, Rulesheets. It’s a fantastic site.
Give pinball a go…….it’s worth it I promise…..

This is the site for pinball emulation. A quick read will teach you what you need to download tables. I believe you need an account first, then you can download up to five tables a day. I find it enjoyable simply because you can edit the tables themselves. For instance, don't feel like having a ball go down a gutter? Remedy that by sticking a giant block in said gutter, thus preventing the ball from draining.

The above site is where you actually download the tables.

I *BEEPING* love pinball. Luckily my fiancee has just been made the manager of a real ale pub and we're going to be moving into it on saturday!! Combining two of my 3 loves, real ale drinking and pinball machines (the other is retro gaming of course ... I mean my fiancee ). It's just had a mint condition Star Trek: The Next Generation installed. It's sweet. It replaced an old rickety Twilight Zone machine. I loved that machine, but it was on it's last legs and needed to go. Such a shame because IMO it's one of the greatest Bally machines every created. Second only to The Addams Family.

The Twilghlight Zone pinball game is amazing. I've spent many hours on that machine. Great stuff. I'll have to try it out!
There is an awsome bar in Lawrence Kansas called the Replay Lounge that has a bunch of pinball machines, quality beer and lots of great 60's and 70's stuff in the juke box.
I like Visual Pinball, but I generally prefer the electronic style pinball games to the realistic style ones. I'd rather play Devil's Crush than, say, most regular stand-up pinball games.
