Cave roms for MAME osx

Post by ott0bot »

I'm really digging Guwange, but I'm having trouble finding ROMS for other Cave games like Esp Ra De. Anyone have a good ROM for that or other Cave games?

I was also looking for Cyvern if there is good ROM for mame.

Any other must play shmups that run on MAME?

thanks ya'll

Besides Guwange, these Cave games work for me in OS X:

Dangun Feveron
DonPachi
DoDonPachi
Progear no Arashi
ESP Ra. De.

I don't think the later Cave games work in MAME yet. (?)

Other good mid-to-late 90s non-tactical shooters that work in OS X:

1944: The Loop Master (8ing/Raizing)
Batsugun (Toaplan)
Battle Bakraid (8ing)
Blazing Star (Yumekobo?)
Dimahoo (Raizing/8ing)
GigaWing (Takumi)
Mars Matrix (Takumi)
Raiden Fighters Jet (Seibu Kaihatsu, lots of Raiden games work)
Shippu Mahou Daisakusen (aka Kingdom Grand Prix, Raizing)
Battle Garegga (Raizing)
Armed Police Batrider (Raizing)

The two others I can think of right now are Brave Blade and SoukyuGurentai (Raizing). They should work but the couple of times I tried they didn't. I have Soukyu on Saturn so I didn't try very hard.

thx for the suggestions! i've got about 1/3 of them, and DoDonpahi and Souky for Saturn. I'll try the others for sure. But I can't get ESP Ra. De. to work.

Which version? The international version and the Japanese version (98/04/14) don't work for me, but the Japanese version dated 98/04/21 works...although I've only tried a few levels so far. And there is the warning saying one or more of the ROMs is incorrect but I've never played the original so I don't know what's wrong with it. Seems okay to me; it looks washed-out a bit...actually a lot of the Cave games look washed-out to me.

The Japanese and International were the only two I could find. I'll look for the one dated as you described.

I really like Blazing Star and I've been playing Pulstar it's predecesor. It's not as good as blazing, but fun.
