Hello,
I need a fight pad for my PS4. I've been playing MKX, and I've been using the stock controller, which isn't that great for 2D fighters imo.
I was thinking about this HORI gamepad:

Or this MK one by PDP:

Or this Mad Catz one:

I'm leaning towards the HORI. It has a simple design. The only thing I wish it has was flaps between the 4 directions like the Sega Saturn, Genesis, and 360 controllers.
The MKX controller looks really cool, but the reviews say it isn't durable.
I like the Mad Catz D-Pad, but I hate the design.
If anybody else has other suggestions, let me know!!
I plan on playing SF5 as well.

MK PDP Pad is garbage. They break down easy. Avoid that.
Early batches of the MCZ pad had some issues. New batches sorted out the problems or so MCZ claims. So be careful if you choose this pad.
Hori pad is good and it's a brand known for solid build quality.

I have the Hori Fight Commander 4 and I highly recommend it. Extremely comfortable.
I use it primarily for PS1 and SNES games on my Raspberry Pi.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Help finding a PS4 fight pad?
It's a rule of thumb that you should avoid any wireless input device with regards to fighters.

I really want one of those Hori fightpads; looks great for Genesis/Saturn games.

Re: Help finding a PS4 fight pad?
Ok... so I just got the HORI fightpad. It's ok tbh. The build quality doesn't feel as great as say the regular PS4 controller or even the Genesis and Saturn fightpads. It feels really light and hollow (kind of like the USB clones of old fightpads). That isn't what I am used to, especially for $40.00. But, I know that doesn't always correlate to durability.
The D pad is much better than the regular PS4 controller. I just wish it had the flaps between the 4 directions like the Genesis, Saturn, and 360.
Overall, the pad feels too flat and straight in my hands.
That being said, the regular PS4 controller would've been fine for me if it didn't have the separated D-Pad. But I think this HORI pad will come in handy if I ever get into the Street Fighter game.
