What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Skip the sequel, go see this in the theater. You'll have a blast.

Sounds like it'd make a fun date.

I'll probably wait a week or so after release and go check it out on one of the earlier showings. :D

Saw MIB3 last night as well. It was definitely better than MIB2 - which was utter trash. Not as good as MIB1, but still pretty good/fun.

Chernobyl Diaries

This was kinda meh. It was very a predictable movie in the slasher movie vein. It did make my friend hide behind her hands and jump a few times. I think having played Stalker took something away from it too as I was often thinking about where they were compared to the game. I will also quickly forget most of this movie where as there are many moments of Stalker that are still fresh in my mind.

Do you feel the movie captured a haunted nuclear wasteland well?

Not anywhere near as well as Stalker does. The movie to me was more of just being in an abandoned somewhere they shouldn't be and there's some weirdness going on with some no-see-ums.

Exactly. The whowhatsits and scary shenanigans should have been replaced by fear of instant terminal illness and the radioactive land itself.

Yeah this is good to hear. The sequel was definitely not that great at all.

The first MIB is a great movie, and I won't hear otherwise.

No one disagrees, lol. its the second one that's terrible.

EDIT: I downloaded a 1080p rip of Akira. I have the restored DVD and didn't want to buy the Bluray since it doesn't have the origial dub. While I don't mind the newer dub, and I do like it's accuracy to the original script, I still really love the original version with Cam Clarke as Kaneda. Anyway, this rip has the new 5.1 dub, as well as the original 2.0 dub with the original voice cast. It's great quality videowise, but the 2.0 sound is a little... weird. That's the only way I can describe it. It almost sounds like every voice with through a Stephen Hawking modulator in the process of adding it to the rip. Still though, it's better than nothing.

So yeah, I watched Akira yesterday. Now I feel like reading my Akira manga.
