i've thrown in a few credits so far, but haven't figured out how scoring works (keep losing my discoman chain) so haven't made it onto the scoreboard.

but i love how after playing when i close my eyes i see disco dudes flying everywhere

From what I understand, picking up the disco men increase your points per enemy killed by 1. So that means each enemy killed is 1 point until you pick up more men. The +[number] you see is what you are up to, so +10 is 10 pts, +100 is 100 pts, etc. You start back at 1 pt per kill when they fly off the screen without being collected. So the key is to stay alive and get a few hundred of them, that is what makes the score hard to get in normal mode until you can amass many at one time without breaking the chain. However, bombing *freezes* the men in place so if you need to get some real fast that might be getting away it's a good way to do it.

That's all I got so far. Otherwise it's a standard early Cave experience. I'll give it another go before the month is up.

Ok, so I think I got the hang of this Time Attack thing. I was incorrect in saying you lose your combo if you die. If a disco-man gets away as you're dead, then you will. I managed a combo of over 700, and as a result my score was better.

ExedExes - 682,832 - Time Attack - Type C (Roll) - MAME

Radirgy is on for August!

I don't have a lot of information for this particular game because it's still a little modern for MAME to emulate correctly. The ROM is out there as radirgy.zip but I have no idea what you'd have to do to get this to run even halfway decently. You're better off grabbing a Japanese console port or getting the Ultimate Shooting Collection for the Wii which was released here.

I'll just say stick with the defaults and turn on autofire if it's enabled. If there's anything else we need to be aware of I'm sure dunpeal or someone experienced with this can fill us in.

I tried emulating the CD port in NullDC, was a bit choppy. At one point I was sure there was a 360 port but turns out that's a sequel. Might have to dig out the Wii at some point this month.

FYI this game was also released on the XBOX 360 on the Sakura Flamingo Archives disc.

Oh really now?! This changes everything. Thanks for pointing that out, hopefully I can still get some runs in this month then!

Final Radirgy Scores:

None!

I had no way of playing this, otherwise I would have submitted something. Sorry this didn't go over too well.

Next month is easily done in MAME, so let's get to Hotdog Storm!
