unlikely the 360 was an utter failure in japan, I'll be surprised if they even try releasing xbox one in japan.

I generally don't like to pay $300-$500 on a single console purchase. So I'm definetly waiting.

When I was a kid, I couldn't wait to play the latest and greatest system. At this age, I have a bit more paitience and I've seen enough console launches that it's not as flashy and enticing as it used to be to me.

Plus, I'd rather play a console when I can cherry pick good games out of it's library, rather than being stuck with only a handful of launch titles to settle for.

I've preordered and am likely buying both next gen consoles on launch day, mostly so I can soak in all the abuse from people on this forum who consider early adoption of a console to be akin to treason.

Right? I mean $500+ for a PS4 (Including 1 title, PS Plus and tax) is a lot of money for a lot of uncertainty. You never know, it could fail. Plus the fact that I can only pick from 15> titles is lame. Not to mention that there are tons of systems with a plethora of games to play. $500 bucks to make a major advancement in my PSP collection.

Do you REALLY think it's a good idea? Can you explain why you have so much faith in these untested prototypes?

I don't think that means what you think it means.

Both the PS4 and XBone, unlike the 360 and PS3 at their respective launches, are very modestly powered. Using hardware that has been tested in tablets and laptops for the last few years.

So it's not really likely they'll have anything close to the failure rates of previous consoles. They're bog standard PC hardware for the most part.

I'm going to wait until around February to get a PS4. I won't get an xbox one. Everything Xbox that I buy, I hate more and more with every single day. I'm finished with the video game masochism.
