Open World Sonic Game

I want to hope that nothing bad will happen due to Sonic being back on track with his last two titles. But I don't want to kid myself either. If they make a game like this I'll reserve my judgement for when its released.

I'd hardly consider the adventure fields to be open world. No moreso than the castle in mario. And either way, it wouldn't really be fair to assess the possibility of a good open world sonic game based on a 14 year old game's hub world anymore than it would be fair to judge the possibility of a good 3D sonic game on Sonic 360's quality.
