Why is it "meh" compared to PSO though? I mean legit differences?

I'll answer this.

PS Zero is awkward to play. The graphics are grainy and both your character and the enemies are way too large. It requires so much constant camera rotation just to navigate and fight.

On the other hand, PS Portable (on PSP) feels more like console games and looks much better.

Zero on the DS was short and had little reason to replay, but had spot on netcode. Something that the alternatives on the console did not have.

I honestly don't know how to answer. I love PSO and get hooked for weaks on end. Zero made me feel so indifferent. Just didnt grab me. I have the PSP game, but have not played yet.

The real reason Phantasy Star Zero is meh is that it isn't a prequel to Alis's story.

I've tried out Phantasy Star Universe a while ago, but I really didn't play much of it so I don't have a super solid opinion of it (and I don't remember too much either). However, I do remember the main character being annoying, and how the game was divided up into episodes where they put the credits at the end of each one (and I think a recap at the beginning as well). You can skip them I think but I also remember that being annoying.

So basically if all I can remember is how annoying it was, that probably isn't a good sign ha.

I haven't played Universe.

If you have an hour to kill here's a pretty awesome/hilarious review.

(scroll down a bit)

Note that the #1 means the writer ranks it as the #1 worst game of all time. But if you continue on there is still a #0!
