- Fallout 3 (PC)

Took me about 8 hours to really appreciate this game, but once I got pulled into it I had a lot of fun. I originally tried playing it years ago when it was new, but damn it was a horrible experience. I just didn't get into it at all, but after playing New Vegas and Skyrim, enjoying both a lot, I figured I'd give Fallout 3 another shot... not to shabby. Probably on par with Skyrim for me, they both do things that I like better than the other, but New Vegas was the one that had the characters, "factions", and storylines that got me interested.

That said Fallout 3 still needed a lot of tweaking to be fun. I installed a mod that replaced all the music with Fallout 1-2 music, and that really helped take it to the next level, as funny as that sounds, it worked. I mean, Obsidian reused a lot of old tracks themselves in NV, and those were my favorite songs there too... haha.

I rushed through this though and beat it in 33 hours, still did most of the side missions though. I guess I just completely knew how to play it after NV and Skyrim, so I was never confused about anything or taking it slow. But yeah, I jumped into this after putting down Skyrim after 80 hours, and it's safe to say I need a damn break from these open world games. I'll get back to Skyrim sometime...

So of course, I start up Saints Row 3 for now. Hah, but sandbox is kind of different I'd say. I really enjoy these kind of games when done right, and SR3 is done right. Not sure if it'll top SR2 for me though.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood (PC Download)
Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 2 (PS3)
Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 3 (PS3)
Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 4 (PS3)
Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 5 (PS3)
Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 6 (PS3)
Gemini Rue (PC Download)

I've come to the conclusion that the beginning of the Assassins Creeds games generally suck. But the ending sequences are fantastic. Push to the middle and end and its worth it. Still not a huge fan, but they are enjoyable enough. Brotherhoods added multiplayer is actually a ton of fun too, which is suprising.

Blue Toad Murder Files is a decent game simply for the fact that the narrator has an awesome voice. Really I just played it to hear him talk, and for the trophies. Yes, I am a trophy hunter.

Gemini Rue is fantastic. It was absolutely phenominal. I couldn't put it down. And that ending, wow, really like that they didn't make it end like most video games do with everything working out for the protaganist. If you haven't played this game and you like adventure games at all then stop reading right now so that you can GO BUY THIS GAME AND PLAY IT. Hell, even if you hate adventure games GO BUY THIS GAME AND PLAY IT. Well? What are you waiting for dammit!

I think this is going to be my next game that I play while commuting on the bus (I usually play point & click adventures because you don't need quick and precise mouse movements, so using the touch pad is doable). I LOVED the demo, so I'm eager to play the full version.

I've got the first 3 Blackwell games as well which I hear are even better, but I absolutely adored the sci-fi setting, so I dunno if they will be able to top this. I'm actually suprised at how much my interest in point and click adventures has gone up recently, considering that I really suck at them. I've never once beaten one without refering to a guide.

I really can't imagine playing this while commuting though. Its probably just me but games like this that have such a deep impact with story and atmosphere need my full attention. All those other people around would be so distracting, I would stop paying attention to the game entirely and I would lose any immersion the game had.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (1/12)
Mirror's Edge (1/18)
Medal of Honor [2010] (1/23)
Puzzle Agent 2 (2/2)
Bulletstorm (2/4)

Bulletstorm was a big surprise for me. I came in with very low expectations. It looked like a game about overly macho assholes that tell homophobic dick jokes while shooting everything that moves with big guns. To me that sounded dumb and I didn't want to play it. And it turns out that it is all of those things, but it's also heaps of awesome. Bulletstorm is actually a smart game, it's just that it's about dumb people. There's also a surprising amount of beauty in this game. It takes place on a resort island, and the settings are simply gorgeous. The gunning is some of the most fun I've had in an FPS in a long time and I like that they have brought a scoring system to it, because not many modern games care about gaining high scores, but Bulletstorm does. There is fast action, huge bosses, and lots of cool violent tricks for you to use in this game and it stays a joy to play throughout the game, and even begins presenting you with a pretty stiff challenge by the end. I even grew to kind of like the characters, even though they are mostly obnoxious kill machines. I recommend this game if you're looking for a modern FPS that plays a little more fast paced and oriented towards skilled point racking.

I gotta thank pulsar_t for writing up something positive about this game. It was your recommendation that got me to check it out. I would have ignored it otherwise and missed out on a great shooter.

Blackwell (I have finished all 4 of them) are great games, however while they were published by Wadjet Eye Games, Gemini Rue (One of the best Adventure games I have played, purely for its cyberpunk settings) was made by a different company.

I did not know that. Just had a quick look at wikipedia, Gemini Rue was made by one guy, Joshua Nuernberger. He doesn't seem to have a company name which explains why I have only ever seen Gemini Rue with the Wadjet Eye Games attached to it.

1. Sonic CD (PSN)
2. Golden Axe Warrior (PS3)
3. Ico (PS3)
4. BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger (PS3)
5. 3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3)
6. SoulBlade (PS1)
7. SoulCalibur II (PS2)

Let's see. This game looked incredible. But it was way easier than SoulBlade. I actually breezed through Arcade Mode in about 5-6 mins playtime. Pretty easy. I used Cassandra. How do I unlock Sophitia?

EDIT: also, so far between SB, SC2 and SC4 -- I enjoy 4 the most.
