I'm 99.9% certain that this is a bootleg. But that makes it no less cool Chris. I'm still curious what's actually on the cart, as no black-and-white version of 1942 was ever officially released. I'm wondering if it's a completely different homebrew game? Maybe it's a rom-hack of something else? Who knows. It's curious for sure, but highly unlikely official.

If you do a search on Ebay, you can see some color pictures of the cartridge. It's clear. Also, the label is different than the one in your fuzzy picture, especially the part below the ESRB rating.
It's probably a gray cartridge so that you can't easily see that it's a fake.
Bootleg cartridges have existed before the internet.
All things existed before the internet...lol...I was merely saying this cart is old. I have the oclor cart as well and will do my best to get a not fuzzy picture of both side by side....I just want to know if anyone else has this cart..I thought it was odd....why bootleg 1942?

The Chinese pirates bootlegged a lot of different games. Earlier this year, someone sold me a bootleg Wario Mega Mini game for the GBA. I also had bought a Wiimote and Nunchuk that were counterfeit.
The cost to make things in China/Taiwan is still much cheaper than elsewhere. So if the pirates can make some money, they'll do it.

why bootleg 1942?
I have bootleg of Spider-Man 2: The Sinister Six for the GBC, despite being in a black case it will work with GBC hardware only. While the SM2 cart says Nintendo Gameboy, its most common they just say GAME above the label.
I see bootlegs of games I dont see the point in all the time.

Looking inside would be the easiest way to tell it is a boot. But outwardly you can check if there's a 2 digit number physically stamped into the sticker, check the DMG or whatever code with a google search, or compare the font and mold versus another cart.

I'd like to see the list too >.>
Also, bootlegs are the devil. Got suspicious of a game that came in the mail today, but the insides said it was alright.
