Re: Why?
I always threw out the box. Nowadays I still couldn't care less about the box. Manuals back then were optional for me too, mainly because I had nowhere to store them.

Re: Why?
When I was a kid, I used to try and keep all my game boxes and manuals, but unless the boxes were plastic (mega drive and master system), my mum would throw them out. How I wish all my Game boy and SNES games still had their boxes . She kept the manuals, but obviously, they were a bit prone to getting lost without their box, so I lost a few over the years

Re: Why?
all that matters is the games, man. you can't play a cardboard box. any info from the manual can be found easily on this glorious thing we call the internet.

Re: Why?
Were the Cart Sleeve included when buying a new NES cart?
A great place to store the manual, shame most didn't save the game manuals.
Okay which sleeve is more rare the Nintendo label or plain?

The sleeves were always included as far as I recall.
No clue about the label though

Re: Why?
Yeah, the games always came with a sleeve (or were you just asking the op about his specific games?). I think the labeled ones are rarer than the black ones, but that's just going off my impression from the games I've owned and played. I don't know for sure.

Labeled for first party and blank for 3rd party. I'm pretty certain it was that way for all the NES games I got new.

Re: Why?
Thanks for the sleeve replies. Just got into the NES 25 years late. My entire collection only three carts have sleeves, Gyromite with internal import adapter gets the Nintendo labeled one. Nintendo did right with that beautiful NES controller!
