First 50 Games here!

    Braid (PSN)
    Sonic Chaos (Game Gear)
    Sonic Triple Trouble (Game Gear)
    Mega Man 5 (NES)
    Mega Man 3 (NES)
    Uno (PSN)
Left 4 Dead 2 (PC Download)
    Super Meat Boy (PC Download)
And Yet it Moves (PC Download)
    Motorstorm (PS3)
    Windosill (PC Download)
    Final Fantasy II (GBA)

    *New*Metroid: Other M (Wii)
I'm glad I didn't get this around launch. If I had I would have bought into the hype that it was going to be Super Metroid in 3D. As it is, it is much more like a 3D fusion. Though Nintendos voice work leaves something to be desired, and at times is down right aweful, I really enjoyed how they explored Samus as a person rather then Samus as a Soldier. There were some minor problems with controls not always being responsive (could have been my wii-mote though) and cameras not showing me what I needed to see, but otherwise it was a smooth ride. The game also filled / explained in a bunch of small, but very annoying, problems with the lore and canon, so that was appreciated. I'm not sure where I would rank it yet, but its definatly not on the bottom of the pile. And I finished with 51% completion for those who are curious, I plan on getting the rest in the coming couple of weeks.

Final count: 63

Okay, this is now my final update for the year.

Ok, now I'm really at 98. This was my first time playing ZOE2, which ended up being longer (about 10 hours) and tougher than I thought it would be. I wanted to play through this as it was a left over from Snickerdoodle's Summer Challenge that I never got around to. I was ready to give up in the the first couple of hours because I found the game's controls and camera to be frustrating and the mech underpowered. I am glad I persevered, as the middle third got better, and the last third was absolutely a blast. Still, I don't know that I like it better than ZOE1, even if it is probably a better game.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo - PSP *new*
Renny Blaster - PCE-CD *new*

Total: 100!

I ended with a game that I try to play through annually, and a game I had never played before. SPF2T must be one of the best all time puzzle games, and it feels quite at home on a handheld. Renny Blaster was a fun beat 'em up with a Castelvania aesthetic that I would recommend highly. I didn't realize when I played it that it is a $400+ PCE-CD game (I played a ROM), and while it is plenty of fun it isn't that fun. Renny Blaster also gives me a PCE-CD game for the year, meaning that I beat at least one game for every system and portable that I owned when the year began! Mission Accomplished!

Some Stats:

Systems:
Current Gen: 55 (across 7 systems + PC)
Retro: 45 (across 21 systems + MAME)

PS3: 17
360: 13
iPhone: 10
PSP: 7
Wii: 5
DS: 1
PC: 2
------

MAME/Arcade (including straight ports like X-Men Arcade, not counted above): 10
PS1: 6
PS2: 4
Genesis: 3
DC: 2
Atari 2600: 2
GBA: 2
NES: 2
Atari 7800: 1
Odyssey 2: 1
PCE: 1
PCE-CD: 1
Sat: 1
Sega CD: 1
SMS: 1
SNES: 1
Xbox: 1
32X: 1
Gameboy: 1
GCN: 1
Jaguar: 1
N64: 1

Genre:
Shmup - 22
First Person Shooter - 13
Beat em'Up/Hack n' Slash - 9
Sports/Racing - 9
Platformer - 8
Puzzle - 8
Fighting - 6
RPG - 5
Run N' Gun - 4
Third Person Shooter - 4
Other - 12 (Ico, Assassin's Creed, Halo 2600, Afterburner, HOTD, etc.)

Top 5 Favorite Games Beaten: God of War III, Dragon Age Origins, Ikaruga, Gunstar Heroes, Portal

Thanks again to Luke for a great thread - I never actually thought I would beat so many games in a year, but everyone's participation in this thread really helped me see it through. It was great to make such a dent in the backlog, and while I don't plan to beat quite so many games next year, I now know that it can be done!

As a bonus picture for some laughs, here I am standing over my kill!

Not a bad idea Ds. I believe I'll also post stats for what I beat this year.

Retro: 41 across PS2, SNES, Saturn, and PC games older than 2005

2 arcade games were beaten as part of a PS2 collection and are included with the retro numbers.
1 NES game was beaten as part of a SNES collection and is included with the retro numbers.

PC: 16 (11 modern, 5 retro)
PS3: 5
Xbox 360: 3
PS2: 6 (not including the 2 arcade titles)
SAT: 1
SNES: 25 (not including the 1 NES title)
NES: 1
Arcade: 2

Genre
Fighter: 15
Platformer: 11 (including 3 action platformers)
First Person Shooter: 9
Action/Adventure: 7
Third Person Shooter: 5
Run 'N' Gun: 5 (including 1 Top Down)
Horror: 3 (including 2 graphic adventures and a third person shooter)
Beat 'Em Up/Hack n' Slash: 2
Text Adventure: 1
Shmup: 1

Top 5 Favorites: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, Power Instinct, Medal of Honor: Airborne, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse

Awesome thread. I'm glad I participated this year, it's been a blast, and I've finally begun sitting down with so many of the games that I've been meaning to get to. I don't know if I'll get nearly as many done next year, but it will be worth the personal challenge. I've already begun eagerly eyeballing titles that I want to get to next year.

I'm looking forward to 2011!

I'm glad so many of you guys kept up with your lists, and get ready for the Games Beaten: 2011 Thread. This year I'm going to change the format of the thread, but only a little.
