Was it this one?

And it was great reading through EGM #8 again for the first time in a decade and a half, at least. Thanks for posting it, hashiriya.

Pretty sure that's the one. Posted in 2006 eh? That's probably why I couldn't remember where I had read it. :)

Also, the PC in the version 7 ad is the same case as the Acer Pentium 100 my parents had except for the little useless holes at the bottom of the front of the case. I still have those little crappy tin can PC speakers too. They're hooked up to my work PC that only needs to make noises at me when a coworker sends me a message.

Looks like Dave Scozzaro thought the turbo was gonna dominate the scene. I wonder if he still has it?

So awesome. I am really enjoying this. "1-900-NIN-10DO"

Did anyone ever call one of these gaming tip hot lines back in the day? "Don't forget to get your parent's permission." Wow, that's old school. I remember hearing that phrase at least once a day while watching TV back in the 80s and 90s.

If this was the oldest issue, what was the second oldest issue? I would appreciate a second serving from this era...

This was awesome - happened to stumble on to it doing a search. Something about EGM's basic review system just seems right. I'm going to adopt it for my retro sports blog also.

Damn that is awesome. I was strictly a Nintendo kid back in the day so I missed out on all that cool Sega/NEC stuff.
