Very very ticked off/sad that I just bent a pin on my Jaguar S-Video cable :( That'll teach me to try to plug in S-video without looking directly at it. Sigh. At least it's not an official Atari one. I might be able to fix it, we'll have to see.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

Slip the straw from canned air or WD-40 (completely cleaned first) over the pin and use that to straighten it out gently. This will help you keep it straighter than tweezers.

:D Back on the schedule at Typhoon Lagoon.

:( My schedule currently has me working only 24 hours across 4 shifts, which is close to 8-12 hours less than what I've been pulling in by picking up shifts on The Hub.

:) Got my W-2 recently so as soon as I can I'm gonna try to get my taxes done and get my refund ASAP. I'm hoping it's enough to help me in trying to move to NYC, though if my guess is right it'll basically cover buying the luggage I'll need (mostly secondhand from thrift stores), my Greyhound ticket (I won't buy it until I know for a fact when I'll be leaving) and maybe a few splurges of my own. Though with my refund and what I hope to get from selling a lot of my shit, I'll still have to scrimp and save since that'll be a third of my goal at best and that'll mean another few months before I can move and I was hoping to move before the spring since I heard that the best time to find a place up there is the fall and winter months.

 I'm trying really hard to not ask my family for help, and not just because many of them have more important things to worry about. It's really because I wanna try to do as much towards my goal as possible, in hopes it'll convince them I'm mature enough (that's my mom's real issue with me leaving).

Smile - Finally back to work from being sick last week.
Ticked - Looks like no one even thought to do anything on their own when I was gone. Two days off, three hundred emails.

That straw is a good idea, might just work. Got me thinking of a more solid tool for this kind of fix. Steel brake tubing would be too big. Maybe a dried out ink rod of a ball point pen?

This emphasizes in leaving all consoles plugged in permanent using additional switch boxes if needed. Not only the fragile pins of SVideo, but also the stress of the cable at the connectors at both ends. That retro console cable might be hard to replace as years progress.

Nothing like opening your inbox to see the flood of emails scroll down like it will never end.

The worst though is when you leave an "Out of Office" auto-reply message detailing who to contact in case of urgency, when you will return to office and someone asking "When will you back in your office? I have an urgent problem". It defies all common sense but happens all the time, doesn't it?

Frown: One of the major downsides of having one hand is that you use that hand a lot. I've never been a knuckle popper, but the years of hockey and piano (weird combo, eh?) have left my right hand a bit of an arthritic mess.

More than likely I'll schedule a visit with my internest for a referral as my fingers and thumb make a popping sound if I clench my fist. It's a pretty cool sound, but it isn't.

Smile: Hosting a Monday Night Raw themed party tonight. Of course I have to have a stupid theme, so I'm serving sushi and ceviche (both raw, get it?). Too bad I still don't have my stuffed "Wrestling Buddies" to place on the couch.

(not sure why I'm bothering)

Stop splurging. The move is a splurge.

If he moves and gets mugged and killed every day we won't have any more of his life updates. I'm not sure I could handle that absence.

Don't ruin this, it is a mana, we should be thankful.

Oh, and...
lulz at spending a refund on...luggage. Too good. Use a black garbage bag son! So much win.
