Awesome! Too bad I already have 5+ various carts for Saturn… It’s a great deal. I paid 2×25$ + about 12$ shipping for two such carts from Jandaman, and it was a good deal!

Is this cart a MOD cart? will it play Japanese imports?

Is this similar to the 5in1/4in1 carts?

Do you sell the above 5in1/4in1 carts?

His RAM carts are not any kind of multifunction cart, aside from the fact that you can switch the cart ID between 1MB and 4MB, which is just a compatibility hack (I’ve never run into a game that actually needs this, but it couldn’t hurt to have it available). It’s a pretty decent price for a 4MB RAM cart in any case, especially when you consider shipping compared to some of the other places that would carry them.

the games that need this are on this page — many of which are very good. Good luck playing them without a RAM cart.

Does this fuction as a memery card as well? If so, how much can it store.

racketboy says:

No, it’s just for video RAM

Zed says:

A RAM cart isn’t optional to run Waku Waku 7, it’s mandatory. The game won’t run without at least an 1mb cart. Try it and see.

pocket fighter is OPTIONAL for the 4meg ram cart. I play it fine on mine with jut pro action replay

Hi, I have a question. I have Pocket Fighter and a 4MB ram cart, how do I know that I’m taking advantage of it? I mean, when I turn on the console and when the game is booting it appears a black screen with two options in japanesse letters, the first option has the word RAM so I assumed that woukld be the correct one, but I have chosen the second one many times and I see no difference withing the game, is there a way to identified the correct use of the 4MB cart? thanks in advance

Marvel Super Heroes is OPTIONAL, the cart just decreases loading times and adds smoother animation, i am playing it right now without a ram cart.

i have two Problems

First Problem
————-
I own a Action Replay 4 in 1 plus Cartridge.
This work fine with my unmodded PAL-Saturn, but the voice of Vampire Savior cames out with a reverb (every thing wich is talked comes 2 times out of the loadspeakers)
The other Sound effects works fine.
All other games wich i had tried, runs very well
(Marvel Superheroes, X-Men, SF-Zero 1+2 and many others…)

Second Problem
————–
can anybody scan a image(as jpg) of the backcover from Fatal Fury Real Bout(not Special)?
I own the original game but these Cover is missing

please send to

I also have a question:

i have the official 4mb cart that came with vampire savior. will it play games that need 1mb to play also? or do i need the 1mb cart separately?

also, would it be wise to buy the action replay 5 in 1 (aka 4m plus) to replace my st-key and my 4mb cart?

thanks!

I got one of the 4mbram carts, It worked fine for a few hours, then my graphics got all jumbled up, now with or without the ram cart the saturn splash screen, dashboard, and games are all jumbled graphics. Did my machine get fried? or is there some way to reset, I tried taking out the battery for a while, but this didn’t help. any ideas?

racketboy says:

I would first make sure that the cartridge slot on your machine is clean (get rid of dust, etc)

I have an ST-Key to convert imports, and the 4MB RAM cart that came with X-Men vs. Street Fighter. So to play this game, I quickly swap the ST-Key with the RAM cart after the game is converted (before the intro screen).
I recently bought Metal Slug, and I use this same method. The game works, but is a little slow at times. Is there any way to get the game to play at faster speed (like as fast as Metal Slug 3 on XBOX)? Or is this slowing a normal, unavoidable feature?

racketboy says:

That’s just the ways it is as far as I know…

andrew says:

i have the import version of marvel super heroes for the sega saturn and noticed it is a lot slower than the U.S version for the playstation. I tried using the 4meg ram cart and checked the options to see it was turned on but the game still plays the same. Hardly any difference at all. Should I have gotten the U.S version for the sega saturn instead of the japanese version? I read great reviews about how the saturn version is superior to the playstation’s but is this true only on the U.S Marvel Super heroes?

racketboy says:

I wouldn’t assume there is any difference between regions, but maybe you are correct.

Maybe you should ask in the forums — somebody there might have a better idea.

I got the action replay 4/1 plus and on xmen vs street fighter the intro screen shows, but when it says hit ‘start’ it kicks me out into the saturn bios screen and says “cartridge unsupported” or something like that. wth?

D_H says:

When you need a 4MB cart on most jap games (X-men vs SF for example) it comes up with jap writing and 4MB, then when its plugged in a screen with jap writing and 16 on it comes on. what does this mean, just curious as game works 😀

anon says:

Im wondering if the AR 4/1 Plus cart is defective (i just bought it).
It works when i go in the menu and select “boot game w/out cheats” and i put an USA game. But if I put XmenvsStreetfighter it runs only upto the intro and keeps running if i let the game run, but if i hit start to beging playing, it kicks me out to the saturn bios screen and says something like ” cartridge not supported”
🙁

racketboy says:

I don’t recall the “16” message, so I can’t really help you too much there….

Mike says:

I want to reply to the guy with the Marvel Super Heroes slowdown with the 4MB cart. It’s a known problem that the 4MB cart actually slows down the game – something with the added frames of animation or something. Better to play Marvel Super Heroes without the RAM cart. Just thought you all should know.

Ano says:

Hello, I recently bought a RAM cartridge from here but so far I’ve tried different games (Vampire Savior, Dungeon and Dragons Shadow over Mystara) the game just says “Expension memory cartridge 4mb not inserted etc…” basically a message in japanese that says no expension cart found please turn off the system and insert RAM properly.

So I don’t know what is wrong, could it be the RAM catridge I received is defective? Is there a settings in the Saturn’s bios to test whether a ram cartridge is found or not?

racketboy says:

Have you flipped the switch on the cartridge? That toggles between 1MB and 4MB mode.
Let me know if that works 🙂
