Need help finding a horror shmup

I cannot recall the name of this horror shooter. It was a horizontal shooter and it was basically like Splatterhouse (a lot of gore, grotesque enemies, etc).

I'm like 95% sure it was a pc game. I don't think I'm confusing it with a pc engine title but I'm not gonna rule it out, tbh.

I know it's not a lot to go on but maybe someone knows what I'm talking about. Thanks.

There was an NES shooter called Abadox that might fit that theme.

On the PCE side, I don't know about gore horror shooters, but there were some weird shooters like Paranoia/Psychosis and Sinistron/Violent Soldier.

Alien Rampage? I guess that isn't a shmup.

There's Blood Money on the Amiga and a few indie gore shooters on PC like the Galshell games and Yakouga. Not sure.

None of those but Abadox looks pretty cool. Thanks for the suggestions so far, though. The search continues!

As you probably can tell, I'm a big fan of Abadox. Highly recommend it.

Think I found it. Shooterhouse. A Splatterhouse-turned-shmup fan game.

The existence of this game shows that game companies back in the day needed more creative types, not fewer. A proper Splatterhouse-themed shoot-em-up would have been awesome.

Maybe the genre was too niche, but if we could get House of the Dead pinball, we could get Splatterhouse or House of the Dead shooter, too.
