anyone have experience with PCEAdvance?

Post by noiseredux »

I've been dicking with it for like 2 hrs. I want to play Lords Of Thunder. Got the ROM builder. Got the Super CD BIOS. Got the ISO. Got the bin/cue. Learned command line to build. Nothing seems to work.

Can someone just build me a Lords Of Thunder GBA ROM already? :)

It would help if you were more specific about the problems you're having. When you say it doesn't work, what exactly are you experiencing or seeing?

Have you checked out the forums over at pocketheaven.com?

yeah I've been checking pocketheaven. I have no idea man. I've built the ROM trying several different downloaded PCE roms. I can get the PCEAdvance emu to load using an ISO I found, but then won't load the game. Then I tried building it using a bin/cue I found. Then my flashcart said the GBA ROM was too big to load. I just have no idea.

What do you mean by "won't load the game"? Do you get an error? The emulator craps out? Details are important here.

Have you tried a different game? Are you able to get any PCE game to work?

using the ISO's I found it wouldn't load a game meaning it would just play an audio track and give me a screen that looked like a CD-Player program.

using the bin/cue's my flashcart said the GBA ROM was too large to load.

I tried other games that weren't built by me that came with the emulator. Unfortunately LoT wasn't one that came with it. But the compatibility list does state that it works. And I am using the correct BIOS (Super CD).

Those other games that came with the emulator, they worked, right?

Which flash card are you using?

yes. I'm guessing I'm just not building it right. That's why I'm hoping someone who knows what they're doing can just do it for me. haha.

Can't help you much, I had similar problems that I've come to understand as being hardware specific with Supercard hardware. I've been procrastinating on working with my newly acquired EZ-flash cards but if you want some bioses to play around with, give these a try:

Please update with any failures or successes and save me some trial-and-error.

Easiest way to play Winds of Thunder/Lords of Thunder portably;

Download it via PSN and play it on a PSP.

Sorry I don't have experience with PCEAdvance. I use the PC Engine emulator on the DS (not the GBA one, which also works on the DS/DSlite). The sound is not so good on it, but it still works for the most part.
