I wish they were with me. I've been waiting for like a month for my Monster Hunter amiibos.

This thing can suck my balls.

I had the same luck at Fragems. A brick right out of the box. Freezes on the title screen. Nothing works. As a last ditch effort I left the console running while I putzed around my room for a bit...... and it shut itself off. Nice.

I'll be returning this. Pretty ticked, as I went all-in and grabbed the GG adapter as well. I'll be keeping that and if the next RetroFreak model (which launches next month, apparently) gets better reviews I may reconsider and try that one out. But this one is a certified P.O.S., even (significantly) worse than the launch model Retron 5. At least that had to courtesy to work for a few months.

Go check out the Amazon reviews. Lots of 5 stars, lots of 1 stars. Seems like quality control is all over the place but it's solid once you get a working... and non overheating... unit.

Let us know how the new revision works out as I'm still interested, although I fear it'll render my flashcarts useless. Until then...

oXbox will continue to get use:

That does not inspire confidence, especially at that price. Pretty bad when even the Retron 5 beats it out. And I know some models work and some don't, but with that sort of quality control, I wouldn't expect the non-overheating models to last. They may have made too tight a thermal threshold, and they're getting *ahem* burned for it.

The revised "Model 2" Retron 5 is very, very good.

Disappointed about my current situation but not devastated. I was looking looking forward to sitting around in my underwear playing some SG-1000 ROMs on a flat screen TV this evening, but I guess I'll just have to do something productive instead.

I was going to post a Christmassy type pic with the RF taking center stage, and the kids having a blast with it.
I'll leave it now, on account of Bones' bad luck with his. :P
