Actually I have used TPS to refer to third person shooters before when referencing both them and FPS in the same discussion.

It's also about the times. An expensive game might be cheap tomorrow.

Oh yeah, one more question. I need you to help end what could otherwise be an endless debate about the Original Nintendo. When you talk about it, do you call it N.E.S. or do you say Ness?

Yeah they did. I can show you plenty of issues of Game Player's or Nintendo Power that I own where they said SNES.
The point being made is how you would say them. Snes has always been the go to when writing. No one is going to say snes and if they did I would probably correct them or at least give them a strange look and say "What did you just say?" Followed by "Get the hell out of my house." Saying anything other then n.e.s. or super nintendo is wrong.
I guess even Nintendo can be wrong about itself.
