Ages ago there was a power outage and when the power came back on, the Pi stayed stuck on the rainbow screen when it boots up and I just now tried a fresh image. That didn't work. Guess I'm looking for a new emulation machine. Anyone recommend the Odroid? Which model? What about the NVidia Shield? ETA Prime keeps singing its praises.

But considering everything else in my life I'm not even gonna worry that much.

I looked pretty heavy into Odroid. I was impressed it seemed to run Saturn fairly well. That got my attention initially. Seems to be a smaller, tight knit community. An updated image gets released from time to time for added support.

The shield TV is interesting bc it's essentially a Nintendo Switch like device (Tegra X1 processor) running Android. The emu scene on Android has really developed & is mature. That coupled with the hardware is impressive. You can also use the really slick menu layout to add shortcuts to your favorite games.

Loved the Mister GameSack vid. We have a write up on our RB front page as well. How much does it run with RAM expansion? I just assumed expensive with FPGA involved.

Posts like these would be interesting and worthwhile dedicated threads. Would a mod like to split?

So what I'm hearing is, for about the travel cost for a vacation to NY you could get yourself an awesome emulation setup!

:( In the hospital for over a week with acute pancreatitis and needing to get my gall bladder out which they were unable to do laproscopically due to past scar tissue.

:) I'm out now and hopefully this has solved appetite issues I've been having. Just have some surgery wounds to heal up from.

Anyone recommend this?

I figure it's a decent price. And the Bittboy line usually gets some bitchin' custom firmware. It won't COMPLETELY replace my Pi, but it's the cheapest option that has portability.

I bought my very first house today!

:o :D 8) :)

Technically, they accepted my contract and I don't move in until the end of July and I still got the inspection I have to do.

But, if everything goes according to plan, I should have my first house.

A wave of excitement and fear is rushing over me at the moment.

More importantly, I finally have space for more games!!
