Re: Black metal
I dunno man, I'll take Entombed wannabes over Mayhem wannabes any day.
But yeah, preferences and all that. I like plenty of black metal too.

Re: Black metal
Is Mayhem ripped off that frequently. To be honest, I always found the band a bit overrated. I really dig Deathcrush and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, but that's about it.
Now Darkthrone has been cloned about a million times.

Honestly, Deathcrush and DMDS are probably the only ones anyone digs. Most people I know really don't like the post-DMDS stuff. I don't mind some of it, but it's definitely a different band and they shouldn't have pushed it to keep going after Euronymous died.

You're probably right, but for some reason I had it in my head that it was mostly American bands copying the Darkthrone sound and not Scandanavia.

Even though probably all of us here love us some colorful, cartoony retrogames (whether it be SNES RPGs or PS1 platformers), I still find it hilarious that a guy with Klonoa avatar is posting about Black Metal.
To keep this post atleast somewhat relevant, here's Burzum's Dunkelheit

Those dudes can go eat a bag of dicks. Same goes for Arghoslent.
I agree. But the riffs man, the riffs! haha
Haha, yeah. GBK isn't my cup of tea, but I can understand why other folks like them. I certainly don't fault you for listening to them.
Just the other day I was half-heartedly listened to some "pagan black metal" mix on YouTube. Eventually I thought to myself, "Hey this shit is pretty cool." When I went back to see exactly what I was listening to I realized it was all far-right/NSBM shit - Graveland, Темнозорь (Temnozor), Forest, Крода (Kroda), Nokturnal Mortum, Infernum, etc...
Good music by shitty people, I guess.

Re: Black metal
I still believe that Forgotten Woods and In the Woods are the two best 1990s Norwegian BM bands. Massively underrated.

Apparently black metal bands really like the woods.
