I'm sad that no-one else joined in this month, so I'll give the game a run through tonight on TG16 and post my score too. The game is fantastic, more people need to play!

Alienjesus - 13,087,910 - Game complete (1CC) - Turbografx
Exed, you actually scored better than me throughout the game, but the final boss is worth 10,000,000 points, so I shot past at the end

Well done. I lost a ton of lives on the previous area, and I couldn't make it through the boss rush. It's a great game.

Do you know about the 'gold' lives? I could never make it past the boss rush until I figured out those myself.
I tried using Weapon 2 mostly this time. I normally stick to weapon 3. I actually think weapon 2 is better for most stages, but weapon 3 is definitely helpful on stage 7 and stage 8 as it takes out the gun turrets and bubbles a lot faster and provides some shielding for your ship.
I always choose the shield as my secondary, because it's so clearly the best. That said, when I lost the shield I found the F power up to be useful with weapon 2 - the blast waves it creates add some much needed extra firepower that helped me through the pyramid stage.
I managed to get powered down right before the final boss, so I ended up fighting him with a peashooter and a homing missile icon I picked up right before the fight. They proved fairly useful actually - with Weapon 1, they shoot 8 homing missiles instead of 4.

Well I feel like an ass, I picked this game and didn't even play.
Will have to fire this up soon even though the month is over.

GOD, I should have paid attention to this subforum last month. This is my favorite TG-16 game hands down (at least of those that I've played), and I'm moderately beast at it. Damn it. Note to self - never ignore the Shmup of the Month.
