I think Origin is the Arcade version.

Climax is a rebalanced version of Origin. Has the same score system but it's in wide screen, much easier, and for some reason has a higher scoring potential. In Origin I'm struggling to pull 50mil but in Origin u can do 100mil no prob.

and Slash is it's own thing. Has its own system and as u said has actual katanas in it unlike the arcade game.

in case u didnt kno, if u press B on the mode select screen it brings u to a tutorial that'll explain the mechanics to you.

Yeah, I've watched for Slash, but not for the other two yet.

So how does one aim the Katanas and Steel shots with the Orchid (ship 2)? I believe that is the only ship that can shoot them diagonally but maybe I missed something.

I made it to Stage 3. Biggest thing I've picked up is using the Summon more because they can always take one hit without losing a life.

I also downloaded a replay of the guy with 1.2 billion - he's decent at these things.

izzit?!?! I only play that one lol needa try the other ones some time too, but I've become too used to / reliant on how the option moves around

but yah the swords move in the opposite direction you move in, so if u wanna release them down-right you would move up-left... I think

for the most part tho I jus aim them straight forward
