Re: Visual Novels
Finally getting Chaos;Head, the precursor to Steins;Gate, officially localized and released in English.
Technically this is Chaos;Head Noah, the expanded director's cut.
The vanilla original PC-exclusive Chaos;Head has had a fan-translation for some time now.
Re: Visual Novels
This obsession with semicolons is bordering on pathological.

They got lost and are now in all the wrong neighborhoods.

After thirty (30!) years Chris Crawford has finally finished his holy grail of a game. I'm 20% through and it's, well, intriguing. Knowing the developer, there's certainly a lot of fascinating calculations going on in the background, but I haven't seen the results yet. Chris says the player doesn't get clear feedback until the game is done, which takes about five hours. We shall see!
If you don't know Chris Crawford, he used to be the best game developer in the world ((according to the Game Developers Conference, which he set up, go figure) until he became disillusioned by the shallowness of the industry.

I got really excited when I read the title of his work, as Le Morte D'Arthur is probably my favorite book of all time, but man, his intro is maybe the most condescending, exclusionary thing I've ever read in my entire life. Think I'm gonna give this one a pass.

It is indeed sad how Chris has become so hostile towards potential players.
I've been reading about feedback he has been given, and he has the most peculiar reasons for not changing his game. I'm still rooting for his success, but I believe his condescending attitude is why he hasn't had a hit since 1984.
