I was thinking the same thing. I like that site a lot but it has the worst layout. I swear I found a "view your posts" link on the home page once but I must have imagined it because I have never seen it again.

The reason I post on RacketBoy is because I was going to post on RF Generation but their site is, indeed, terribly laid-out. I was frustrated just trying to create an account and find something relevant afterward.

Loving this thread! I just started my own blog (Plug! Plug! ) and it's great to see how other amateurs and professionals are going about it.

Of course, nothing beats Racket Boy's forums (absolutely love the community). And the editorials are all must-reads!

I like checking out Retronauts from time to time: http://www.1up.com/1upblogs/3/

Of course I'll do some shamless promotion and mention our blog/website at http://www.thehookshot.com. We do a lot of inside-games articles and videos.

Although it isn't a blog per se, http://www.screwattack.com has a lot of great original features, and focuses some on retro!

A favorite of mine that hasn't been mentioned yet is Super Adventures in Gaming. It's a really fun read with great screens and often humorous insight; hell, the tagline is - 'Playing everything, finishing nothing, posting screenshots.'

http://superadventuresingaming.blogspot.com/

The Rules
1. I don't play games that I remember playing before. Unless I want to. For nostalgia or whatever.

2. I don't use cheats, save states, trainers, etc. to progress through the games. With a lot of these games, reaching game over is a blessing.

3. I don't read the manual first, I don't play fan translated games. Because it's more amusing if I don't know what I'm doing.

4. I'm not trying to win the games, or make full 'Let's Play' playthroughs. I'm just going sight seeing through retro games and taking pictures.

5. I do post screenshots from cutscenes, so there may be spoilers.

I know of several blogs, gaming and retro-gaming, but here are two of my favorites that update frequently with high-quality content:

http://redparsley.blogspot.com -- Retro games, occasional other fun randomness
http://8-bitgirl.blogspot.com -- Retro and modern, primarily Nintendo coverage
SkirmishFrogs.com -- A lighthearted retro gaming community.

NintendoLegend.com -- One retro gamer's quest to play and review every American-released NES game.
