Video game books?

Post by jfe2 »

Can anyone point me to any interesting video game related books? I'm looking for anything from analytical stuff, art books, really just anything at all to do with video games in general.

My wife wants to know what I want for my birthday next month, and I really just want to read a lot lately, so I'm basically just looking for some ideas.

I don't remember what it was called, but I really wanted to get the biography of how the PlayStation came to be. It's supposed to be incredibly descriptive and chronicles Kutaragi, since his days as a lowly Sony engineer and his invention of the modern LED/Electroluminescent equalizer bars on stereos in the 80's to the SNES's SPC chip and his pleading then subsequent convincing of the Sony board to greenlight the PlayStation and all the way up to the middle of the PS2's lifespan.

If you like Megaman games, there are art books in English for Megaman, Megaman X, and Megaman Zero. I personally have the Megaman Zero artbook and it's really nice.

Has anyone had any experience with the SMT art books? Because it seems like they would be phenomenal.
