Re: Games Acquired 2023
Got my copy of Kaze and the Wild Masks for Switch today. That's probably all I'm gonna get for now as all shipping seems to be on hold with most people until after the holidays. I have things I've ordered many days ago that still haven't been shipped out yet. Kaze is a great game and has one of the best trailers ever. In fact, it's fun to re-watch that trailer now as it totally fits the holiday vibe

I'll check and get back to you. Currently putting in some work hours before starting my holiday weekend.

So I went to the calibration in settings again and the answer to your question is yes.

That’s reassuring. I’m considering a grip-style controller. That one doesn’t fit in the dock, does it.

Probably not, there's a thing on the bottom that covers the Switch's usb port with the grip's own usb port. This may not apply to most people reading this, but I found that it's alternate usb port doesn't play nice when trying to connect a modded Switch to a PC. It works just fine for plugging it to a battery charger though.
If you're looking for an alternative, this looks promising:

I think the "slim edition" is a newer model, the site also has a larger one that I think is the old one

emwearz 2023 Pickups
Running Total: $336.28 AUD / $228.70USD
*all ebay prices include postage
Yoshi's Cookie <NTSCJ> (GB) - $2.95AUD / $2.01USD via eBay
Metamode <NTSCJ> (GBC) - $4.95AUD / $3.37USD via eBay
Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced <NTSCJ> (GBA) - $4.95AUD / $3.37USD via eBay
Super Mario Advance <NTSCJ> (GBA) - $5.30AUD / $3.6USD via eBay
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 <NTSCJ> (GBA) - $4.95AUD / $3.37USD via eBay
Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem <NTSCJ> (NDS) - $5.00AUD / $3.40USD via eBay
There was an ebay seller with like 3 feedback who had a bunch of Japanese portable games up for auction. I usually don't bid with such low feedback, as more often than not the seller just cancels after the auction or just never sends etc. All games arrived, for less than $20USD for all titles, I am a very happy little boy.
Metamode is an awesome Zelda style action game if you have never played it, well worth having a look at if those kind of games float your boat.
Side note: Because Australia is located fairly close (by Australian standards of travel) to, Japan 10.5 hrs to Tokyo, it is not uncommon to be able to pick up decently priced Japanese imports locally on eBay. I have not been to Japan since having kids, but I have gamer friends who go and say the days of "retro hunting" on the cheap are long dead, so it is nice to have the option to pick things up like this from time to time.

Nice score, emwearz! I'm not familiar with Metamode, so I'll have to look into that. Sounds like something I'd enjoy.

Agreed! I’d never heard of that either. I’ll have to look it up!
Re: Games Acquired 2023
Defiantly worth looking up. It was a Japanese only release. I came to know it when I was in high school and my Japanese teacher had it plugged into the Gameboy Player in her room (we use to be able to play Japanese games to..."learn"). It was all in Hiragana (the children/students alphabet) from what I remember, so if you know basic Japanese you can get by, if you don't there are guides / forum posts online about puzzles or clues that require Japanese knowledge.

emwearz 2023 Pickups
Running Total: $383.72 AUD / $262.73USD
*all ebay prices include postage
Space Harrier II (MD) - $10.87AUD / $7.44USD via eBay
By no means a great port of Space Harrier, decent Mega Drive (Genesis) games at a decent price is becoming fairly rare, for the price I had to get it.
Halo 3 (360) - Free via Friend
A mate was in my gameroom and noticed that I had the Halo 3 Essentials case on my shelf but not the game itself and said he had a copy lying around somewhere. I have no idea where my copy ended up over the years and if I was to play the game today, I would do so in the MCC, but it is nice top have it back on the shelf none the less.
Space Harrier 2II (MD) - $2.50AUD / $1.71USD via eBay
A Hat in Time (PS4) - $7.59AUD / $5.20USD via Amazon
One of two things I picked up during the Black Friday sales on Amazon. I have heard nothing but good things about the game but am yet to try it. The price was amazing and I am really happy to pick it up and can't wait to get a bit of free time to jump into it.
Far Cry New Dawn (Xbox One) - $4.00AUD / $2.74USD via Thrift Store
I have not tried it out yet and to be honest I feel burnt out on the series as a whole, but for $4 I will get around to it at some point.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (Switch) - $13.00AUD / $8.90USD via EBGames
I used a birthday voucher combined with a 'managers sale' to get the good price. I enjoyed the first game enough, though I felt the exploration was a little lacking outside of the battles, the DLC addressed this and felt like a fairly big step up as a whole package. Another one I am looking forward to sinking my teeth into when I get the urge for a strategy game.
Samba De Amigo (Wii) - $3.49AUD / $2.39USD via eBay{/b]
[b] Need for Speed Nitro (Wii) - $2.50AUD / $1.71USD via eBay
Not a half bad racing game from what I remember, it was made for the Wii so plays and looks decent.
The Getaway: Black Monday (PS2) - $3.00AUD / $2.05USD via Thrift Shop
I enjoyed the original back when it was a recent game, for a couple bucks it is worth putting on the shelf and hoping I get around to it at some point.
SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs (PS2) - $2.99AUD / $2.05USD via eBay
I always wanted to try this game but for whatever reason I never got around to it. No idea how it plays offline but again, for a couple of dollar it is worth looking into.
