Games Acquired 2022
Re: Games Acquired 2022
...April was pretty good for adding to the collection, I was unreasonably geeked about finding a clean copy of Mickey Mania at a great price w/an additional 10% off as well. I passed on the Sega CD version and another clean CIB Genesis copy a few years ago and had been kicking myself in the arse ever since.

...awesome, I heard the Limited Run store opening was a good time. I really wish I could have made it down there from VA as they had plenty of things I had missed like Dust and The Messenger. It looks like you made some very solid additions to your library though.

I know The Messenger was in high demand and low supply, but they had a decent number of copies of Dust

Revelations: Persona (PS1)
Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James (PS1)
Raiden Trad (GEN)
Soul Blazer (SNES)
Wave Race 64 (N64)
Just want to share my April pick-ups! Scooped a nice mix of games this month IMO, one or two that are oddities that I wanted to finally try, and a few that I have childhood memories with from either renting, or playing at my friend's place.
Revelations: Persona (PS1) - I have to say thanks to Maru on the smooth transaction for this game. Persona is a title that my childhood buddy had, and we spent a few weekends binging through it. At the time, I thought the game had a really cool vibe, as I hadn't seen many RPGs that took place in a modern setting. I'm looking forward to finally revisiting this one and diving into it all over again.
Gunfighter: The Legend of Jesse James (PS1) - This game is an oddity for me, as I just learned of it a few years ago. This is a light gun shooter with a cover system, very similar to Time Crisis. The game is also compatible with the Namco Guncon, which is a big plus IMO, because that light gun has great accuracy. The graphics aren't the best for the PS1, but the gameplay's quite fun.
Raiden Trad (GEN) - I'm a big fan of the Raiden series, and am attempting to track down most of the home ports. I had not played this version of the game back in the day, but I've been on the lookout for it for quite some time. As I've mentioned multiple times, I'm not too good at shoot 'em ups, but I made it to Level 4 on my first attempt. I'm hoping I can continue to learn the patterns in the various stages and beat it!
Soul Blazer (SNES) - Soul Blazer's also a title I had not heard of back when it was released. But after finding out about it a few years ago, I really wanted to try it. Actraiser is one of my favorite games on the SNES, and that game basically made me want to check out all of Enix's other releases on the system. I'm also a huge fan of action RPGs, so I feel like Soul Blazer's right in my wheel house. Can't wait to play through it later this year.
Wave Race 64 (N64) - Wave Race was the first game I rented on the N64 shortly after I got the system with Super Mario 64. Good times checking it out with my neighbor, and getting a feel for what the N64 was capable of. I've wanted a copy for some time but just always overlooked it. Will be fun to check this one out again as well!
Nice copy of Raiden, I love the color scheme on the box art. I suck at shmups, but that one is easy to get into and not too hard considering the genre. Nice pickups
Re: Games Acquired 2022
As I mentioned previously, I got a WHOLE HUGE BUNCH of new games in April. A strong dollar-to-yen conversion inspired me to go a little nuts with a proxy site (with more things to come...) plus I want to get every 3DS game I'm mildly interested in before the store goes away. And I found a couple of other titles here and there at a good price that I felt I couldn't pass up!
My latest aquisitions:
Q*bert (Dreamcast)
Pushmo (3DS - digital)
7th Dragon III Code: VFD (3DS - digital)
Etrian Odyssey Nexus (3DS - digital)
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth (3DS - digital)
Picross S: Genesis & Master System Edition (Switch - digital)
Attack of the Friday Monsters (3DS - digital)
Crimson Shroud (3DS - digital)
Super Mario Land (GB)
Yoshi (GB)
Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)
Liberation Maiden (3DS - digital)
3D Super Hang-On (3DS - digital)
HarmoKnight (3DS - digital)
Dillon's Rolling Western (3DS - digital)
Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS - digital)
SteamWorld Dig (3DS - digital)
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon S (Game Gear)
Puyo Puyo 2 (GG)
Puyo Puyo (GG)
Galaga '91 (GG)
Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair (Genesis)
Silent Hill 2 (PS2)
Sakura Wars: Hanagumi Taisen Coulmns (Saturn)
Sakura Wars 2 (Saturn)
Kenshin Dragon Quest (Plug & Play)
Monkey King: Hero is Back (PS4)
Pac-Man (GG)
Mortal Kombat II (GG)
Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)
Sonic Unleashed (360)
Bust-A-Move (GG)
All in all I've gotten 97 new games for the year. This is an unsustainable rate of game acquisitions. But also, I'm enjoying having become a big-scale collector! I feel like I have become one with the backlog...

...all of the copies of Dust were gone over last weekend. The idea of a Limited Run physical store seems very cool and frustrating at the same time

Awesome pick-ups as usual, Syndicate! I've enjoyed the other Mickey Mouse games on the Genesis but haven't played Mickey Mania yet. The game footage looks good though. Will need to check that out sometime.
Also, I was playing Robocop vs. Terminator via emulator the other day and found myself having quite a bit of fun. I gotta scoop that up if I come across it!

Yeah, the box art is one of the stranger covers on the Genesis, IMO. It's a weird combo of colors, but I like it too. I'm also not good at shmups, so I'm fine with grabbing some easier ones. Lol.
There's also a variant cover, that's mostly grey and red! I'm not sure if it only came in some type of combo pack with the advertised controller, or if it was just a reprint. Seems like it's a lot less common. To my understanding, the cart and manual are the same as the original version, just the cover art on the box is different.
Re: Games Acquired 2022
Wow checking ebay asking prices of that variant, way out of what I'd pay for a copy, no sold listings show up.
