Saving Every Sega Genesis Manual On The Internet

Post by HappehLemons »

I've started a project to archive every missing NTSC-U Sega Genesis manual on the internet.

Here you'll find a list of missing Sega Genesis game manuals online today (To my knowledge):
https://www.vgcomplete.com/missing

If anyone has any of any of the listed manuals, please feel free to reach out to me (VGCompleteInfo@Gmail.com). I started this project about 20 days ago and we've already gotten close to 40 manuals in just that time. We're only got roughly 100 left out of a 700+ library

I'm doing what I can to contribute & buying up every manual I can online but having a few helping hands wouldn't hurt!

Don’t let these little booklets disappear in time

Also for those who are interested, I'm also translating & preserving Japanese manuals so they can be read in English. If a game has a fan translations or are already playable in English, but doesn't have supporting documentation, you can check out the translations here:

Oh; I've got a bunch of these!

DJ Boy
Hard Drivin' (black & white, I think there's also a color version)
Mega Bomberman
OutRunners
Revolution X
Road Blasters
Toxic Crusaders
Wiz 'N' Liz

I don't want to mail them in or anything, are you okay if I just scan them myself and email you them? I don't own a scanner but I can use one at work. Maybe I'll do that and put them on the Internet Archive regardless.
(I'll be sending you an email too in case you don't check this thread)

Wow this is seriously a chunk of missing manuals, Mega Bomberman is a tough one to get too! Of course, I'll shoot you a PM, but just to outline things here:

Feel free to send me raw image scans, I can crop them myself
If you want to crop & convert them to PDFs that's fine! But we try to keep them under 20MBs so they're accessible without being too large.

I've got Clayfighter, Faery Tale Adventure and Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. I'll try to see if I can work on scanning them some time next week :)

What condition do you want them in? I have a very rough Crue Ball manual.

Someone good with Photoshop could probably smooth that out.

We aren't picky. If it's readable I'm happy to archive it. :) Just shoot me an email.

This is a very good service for the Genesis community. From what I've seen of Genesis games in the wild over 20 years, at least are missing the manuals!!! The situation is no better on Ebay. I don't know why it is, and can only assume that somehow all the manuals kept falling out of the cases and we're subsequently lost. It's really frustrating as a collector, a big reason why I never went for the full set.

I have Instruments of Chaos Starring Young Indiana Jones. There's also a promotional flyer for the Gargoyles cartoon. I'll scan and email.
