Dang, a hardcore retro gamer with an almost-clear backlog; I didn't think it was possible! Good luck with those last titles!

Thank You!

Being a Retro Gamer has helped in clearing the Backlog. Not keeping up with the "Cult of New" has helped in not buying games.

But, that also means all the games I want are there for the taking. I just have to buy them...

That's great to hear! I'm definitely trending towards completion myself, but it's about 10 years out at my current rate.

Reminds me, gotta film for my Myst 4 series soon.

I played the game in 1996 on a Pentium 100 with 4x CDROM drive, so it was better for me than folks playing in 1993.

I also beat it without help and did not find the puzzles to be particularly difficult. I haven't beaten any further Myst games. I have Riven and Exile, but lost interest in Riven after a while.

I DID brute-force the maze.

I was playing with sound off or low and didn't notice that there were audio cues for it.

I also had played some of the older Sierra games, as well as several LucasArts graphic adventures by this point. I agree that Myst was easier. It took me months to beat Maniac Mansion on NES. That's not a dig at Myst-- I appreciated that the puzzles were significantly less "random" than other adventure games of the time. I think there was only one "find the pixel" puzzle, and I never had to use two seemingly random things together to fashion a new tool I would never have imagined myself.

After the LucasArts games in particular, I found Myst to be really underwhelming. I much preferred their living, detailed, dynamic worlds to Myst's more beautiful but sterile world. Myst was also really short in comparison to what I was used to.

At Limewater - if you haven’t already - please download and enjoy Thimbleweed Park. I loved EVERY minute of the game. 10/10 point and click adventure game. Would be right up your alley.

It's on my radar, and GOG sells it, so that's a big plus. I'll take your hearty endorsement as a further push in that direction.

On a tangential note, here's another "Random Gaming Thought."

Other than graphics, I don't really understand what Leisure Suit Larry really added to Softporn Adventure.

Al Lowe was quoted as saying that he was given the chance to remake Softporn Adventure, but he had to make fun of it because it was so serious. I don't see this at all. I played Softporn Adventure before playing Leisure Suit Larry (both in the early 00s, so way after they were current). I thought they had pretty much the exact same feel and sense of humor.

One more Zelda game to beat, and it's a replay too :) It's Majora's Mask. Thought it would make a suitable conclusion.

Curious to know what your feelings will be on the entirety of the series having conquered all of it.

I will be making a video ranking them, but my estimate is that it'll be 6-8 hours long LOL. The script is 3.5 hours left so far with 11/29 entries to go, but I'm typing them in an ascending order so the higher the rank the more I'll talk about it probably.

I might make a tier list or something a few weeks after the video comes out here because I know the users here prefer to read anyways.

Just watched the Sonic Frontiers trailer.
It looks great, but it's so blatantly "Sonic: Breath of the Wild".

The world scenery looks like Sonic: Breath of the Wild for sure. But there's no way the game will actually play anything like it. That would just be... weird.
