What are your thoughts on overlays? I've been playing Mine Storm for a couple days with the repro overlay that it came with. The screen seemed sort of washed out, but I figured that was due to the hardware being more than 40 years old. Tonight I took off the overlay and the screen was as sharp and as beautiful as the test unit I saw in a toy store back in 1983. It'd be nice to have a bit of color, but now I'm thinking that overlays are kind of like a video game prophylactic. And while it's true that I don't know where my Vectrex has been, I'm willing to take the risks for greater retrogaming pleasure.

I admittedly have never had any overlays and never bought any repros, but I love the sharp, crisp monochomatic vector graphics, so I probably wouldn't use them even if I had them.

...things have been pretty busy, so I haven't been around as much as I would like or even made to many acquisitions for the collection. It looks like everyone made some really nice additions over the last month though. February was sort of light for me, but I finally got my hands on a clean copy of Choplifter for the SMS. I spent a ton of hours on the 7800 version, and being able to add the best home version to my collection is really cool. Sine Mora is a triple dip and Moving Out 2 should be a blast w/my kids.

I recently preordered the forthcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space game for PS5.

Other than that I've mostly scored random indie and classic games on Steam (either via the Steam Store or Fanatical) and GOG.

Sadly, a couple of the games (Relicta and Lego Marvel Super Heroes) don't run that well on my Loki Zero. I was however able to get Mothergunship to (mostly) run.

Samura Jack: Battle through Time Best Buy cover - Switch

Seems to be getting hard to find, though I could say that about a ton of Switch games at this point. I did read somewhere though that Adult Swim digital games are getting de-listed

Adult Swim has closed their publishing functions, so anything they published is being pulled. Most developers probably still own their IP and can re-publish if they remove the Adult Swim logos but that will all come down to contract language.

Interesting. I guess we'll see.

Glad I got a copy, I flipped the reversible cover. I like that it has Ashi on the back
