Games Acquired 2022
Re: Games Acquired 2022
2022 Pick-ups:
Yoshi's Story (N64)
Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth (N64)
General Chaos (GEN)
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PS2)
I'm trying to do a better job this year of posting my pick-ups within the month I actually got them, so here are my pick-ups for January!
I finished Yoshi's Island on the SNES in early 2020 and had a really fun time with it, so I've been curious about playing Yoshi's Story on the N64. Plan on getting to it within the next few months.
Star Soldier's a game I didn't even know existed until the a few years ago. Wish I had knew of it back in the day! Good graphics for the system, and I really dig the soundtrack. I've been playing this game a lot lately and enjoying my time with it. Hoping to beat it soon.
One of my friends used to always talk about General Chaos in the early 2000s, saying it was one of his favorite games and we need to try and track down a copy. I never ran into it back then, but it was on my Genesis list, and I ran across a copy and jumped on it. The back right corner of the case is cracked but other than that, it's in good shape. I played the game in single player a bit and was having a fun time! Look forward to playing this with friends, seems like it could get pretty wild. Lol.
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance has been on my PS2 to get list for quite a while, but I don't actively look for PS2 games too often. However, my partner and I finished a good amount of co-op games the past year or two and I thought this would be a fun one for us to tackle. We've played a few hours in, and are really enjoying it so far!

Re: Games Acquired 2022
I love this thread! I love seeing all of this haul from you guys <3
Here's mine for 2022 so far. A little tame, but there's still the rest of the year to catch up!

Re: Games Acquired 2022
End of January means it's time for my first post of the year:
January:
Persona 5 Royal PS4
Pokémon Legends: Arceus Switch
Luigi's Mansion 3 Switch
Total: 3 games
A few pickups of games I missed from this generation this month, plus the new Pokémon game because I do love me some Pokémon games.

Re: Games Acquired 2022
...January was pretty light, all Switch stuff time around. I was able to score some LR stuff that I missed and a Darius game that almost slipped by me. Hopefully, I can get back out to some of my local stores this month and find some classic goodness to add to the collection.

Re: Games Acquired 2022
Digital:
The Wild at Heart - PS 4
Neat little indie Pikmin clone.
The Artful Escape - PS 4
I'm not sure what to make of this one. It seems to be a comical, story based, platformer revolving around rock music. I've seen great reviews for it. What I've played so far is pretty light on gameplay, but the story has been entertaining
Shenmue I and II - PS 4
I was never much into Shenmue, only played the first one on Dreamcast, but these were on sale for such a ridiculously low price I couldn't NOT buy them
Physical:
Finally received my collector's edition of Huntdown. I could have sworn I ordered the PS 4 version and was surprsed to receive the Switch version. I checked my order history though and I totally did order the Switch version. It's no big deal since I own a Switch but I tend to play games more often on the PS4.
I also got an email for Mega Man: Wily Wars so I'm expecting that soon.
Trying to decide whether or not I should pre order River City Girls Zero Classic Edition from Limited Run Games, the one with the sweet SNES style box. Sometimes I really despise Limited Run Games because they just keep putting out so many damn games that I want, but there's only so much money in my wallet. What I hate is that if I see something I want and pass on it, I know it'll cost me a small fortune on ebay to get it later. Not something I had to worry about when I used to buy physical games in brick and mortar stores. Ugh. LRG was once this nice little company that would put out the occasional physical release for these little indie gems that wouldn't get one otherwise. Now it's like they are Gamestop with a large influx of games every year that I can't keep up with and tons of expensive special editions too. It's such a different company now. I love the service they provide but I just hate the whole, "buy it NOW or pay a fortune later" aspect of it.

Re: Games Acquired 2022
Latest acquisition:
Catwoman (GBA)
Based on the Halle Berry movie - someone on a podcast I listen to said it was actually a pretty fun game. I'm not expecting gold, but I like cats and I like women...
