Re: Games Acquired 2021
pickups this month so far. berzerk was my favorite 2600 game. didn't know there was a sequel until recently so enjoying frenzy, but getting my ass handed to me lol. Indiana Jones is my favorite movie franchise (Back to the future a close 2nd), so added this tomb raider clone, from what i've read. always looking for boxed 2600 and colecovision games.

Came in today. I'm just getting into the coleco scene so alot of these are new to me. I watched reviews and gameplay and looked cool to me so thought I'd pick it up. We shall see. Never played the 2600 version either so I'd be new the game

You need to get on that. It’s one of the best games of its generation!

2021 Pick-ups:
Just wanted to share my April pick-ups!
19. Mushihimesama Futari (360)
20. Die Hard Arcade (SAT)
21. Galactic Attack (SAT)
22. Resident Evil: Code Veronica (DC)
Finally scored Mushihimesama Futari after playing it a lot at my friend's place around the time of release, and spent most of the month playing the game. Was able to get decent enough to finish it in the easier setting, and take on the first few levels of the normal setting. I'm a big fan of Sega beat 'em ups and purchased Dynamite Cop on the DC when released, so was glad to finally add Die Hard Arcade! Can't wait to play the game co-op with a friend. Galactic Attack was a new title for me this year, I tried it on emulation months ago and really liked it so jumped at the chance to pick it up. And finally, Code Veronica is another new title as I never played it when it came out -- looking forward to finally playing through it!

Ok after an hour of feeling it out, definitely a fun game I'm glad I picked up. I'll be going back to it alot. Right now it seems like some trial and error I need to learn. Oh, the red wall must be fire, didn't know that, kinda thing. But I like it. I'm sure the sound and graphics are a bit better than the 2600 version, but never played so can't compare. I would imagine having 2 fire buttons help over 2 joysticks you probably have to use for fire/ dynamite with the 2600.

I prefer the 2600 version, but every version after it has more advanced graphics. But the 2600 version has a black, bleak background that I find more appealing. And you actually just press down (er, "pull the joystick toward you" in the manual) to set dynamite.
This game has long been my favorite 2600 game by leaps and bounds. It's a shame it came out so late (1984!), otherwise I think it would have been a bigger hit.

Re: Games Acquired 2021
Meanwhile I have this version of H.E.R.O.............
It's not bad at all, but I'd like it on one of the American systems as well.
stickem -- nice pick-ups as always. Funny how those second gen box arts were used across all consoles and you'd have to read that little "strip" on the bottom to make sure you were buying for the correct system. Frenzy is something I've been meaning to get forever. One of those funny old arcade/Coleco exclusives alongside Space Panic, Cosmic Avenger, Slither, Space Fury, and a few others I'm forgetting.
Note -- Good stuff. Mushihimesama Futari is certainly one of the coolest 7th gen shmups.
