It is basically Mass Effect with the shooter part replaced with small scale starship battles and with better story and characters. It is surprising to see how much Bioware stole took inspiration from this game.
Easily in my top 10. Total hidden gem that caught me by surprise, and fulfilled the reason why Racketboy has Together Retro.

I found I am not nearly good enough to take out hordes of Probes with Fwiffo without succumbing to the relentless grind of attrition. But yes, the game itself is still amazing and I have hopes for the Stardock reboot (they're specifically rebooting because they consider the original storyline to belong to the Two Guys From Andromeda).
