Is there an equivalent magazine out there today? I know the internet has murdered most physical magazines, but I would love to find a new "underground" gaming magazine to subscribe to.

After Play ended they restarted GameFan, but that's released about 8 issues over a five year peropd. It's a very "whenever it's done" schedule. I've only ever seen them at Barnes and Noble and it's so inconsistent.

Their opinions are also "okay?" but the magazine design, layout, etc is astonishing.

The last year or two of Play magazine is the closest we ever got to a Gamefan reunion as a good portion of their staff worked on that magazine previously. I really do miss it and gaming periodicals in general. Shame there's no scans of it online.
