Sega Hotline strategy guides

by Nemoide Tue Jan 05, 2021 10:38 pm

So back in the ’90s, you could call a 1-900 number to get tips for Sega games. You could also order copies of the strategy guides operators of that hotline used. I was pretty obsessed with Sonic and wanted to know EVERYTHING about those games and my mom actually ordered some of those guides for me. AFAIK, I’ve never heard anyone on the internet mention these guides even existing, but today I uploaded the ones I have onto the Internet Archive to share with the world. They largely have the kind of information that can be found on GameFAQs these days and honestly are for the kind of games that don’t really need guides, but they’re kind of cool because they’re official Sega products. Maybe someone will appreciate them!

Here are the links on the Internet Archive:

These are awesome, Nemoide. I like the fact that screenshots are included in the Sonic 3D Blast guide.

I wasn't aware these existed or that consumers could order them back in the day. Thanks for taking the time to scan and share these! Great stuff.
