How rare is the Saturn USB controller?

Post by SuperDerpBro »

I heard these are rare. I see only one, used for $250 on eBay.ca, lol. I have a bunch of them NIB figure i could sell muh used one. Used but not very much. I think i beat Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on VBA with it years ago and that was about it. Been in a shoe box ever since. Should i put it on eBay or keep it?

It depends on if they're real or bootlegs. Several bootlegs have come up, but I wouldn't call the real stuff "rare," just hard to find. No idea on price, though. $40 would've been fair a few years ago, so who knows what's a good price for them now.

Are those the ones that have "SLS" logo on the back?

Those are pretty good if so.
Have no idea what they'd fetch on eBay, but $50 might be a good starting price.

They could go for more, but it is hard to value an item that isn't there to compare.

Other good Saturn controllers and adapters are overpriced IMO.
I don't think I'll ever get another Xbox "Magicbox".

Maybe not a xbox magicbox, but there is a Saturn to USB converter by Mayflash I've heard works well (but not sure on input lag). There's other converter combinations as well, for a similar experience. PS2 and PS3 capcom fightpads come to mind.

This is all there is to compare to (Currently for sale anyways). Got a bent usb it looks like hehe. Completed auctions show less. *shrugs*

Honestly, just put it at open auction. Otherwise, you'll just be speculating with nothing to back it up (an unsold item, or even one BIN, is not enough information).

These definitely go for $100+ used. If yours are NIB then expect more.

If you have some proof to back this up, please show us.

I see them pop up on eBay occasionally. Right now, there's a sold listing for an SLS one that went with a BIN of $110:

There's also a Japanese one that went for $130:

But I think it's pretty common knowledge among people interested in these pads that they go for $100+.
