Zero extras? It came with a Mario history book and audio CD, as well as really nice packaging.

Well worth the disk space. They didn't even bother to make the PAL version run at 60hz...like all of the ROMS they dumped onto the Wii VC.

This makes me sad that there are no Shadowrun Rom hacks:

I've still yet to get into that one although I've heard its highly rated by fans of the pen and paper game. The SNES one is the one with all the nostalgia for me.

I'm always kind of surprised by the narrow interest of Rom hackers in general. Do we really need another Super Mario World Kaizo game when stuff like Skyblazer or Demon's Crest could be plundered to create something awesome.

Is it harder to hack other games or something?

SMW has a very robust level editor called Lunar Magic. You can edit levels as easily as Super Mario Maker. It also allows you to fairly easily edit the overworld map, the title screen, and the title screen demo sequence.

This is why a zillion SMW hacks exist. You don't need to know anything about ROM hacking to make a SMW hack.

Some hacks I'd LOVE to see:

* Steampunk Sonic
* Some more PS1 hacks (I know there's a MK Mythologies: Quan Chi game that's hacked from an unrelated Midway game)
* A REPO! The Genetic Opera game based on the Super NES version of Shadowrun.
* Some Sweet Home-based hacks that turn it into a new game entirely, maybe with an AHS theme?
* A Castlevania game built on Metroid's engine

Wrecking Crew '98 (SNES)

I never even knew this game existed. Now it's translated!

It's a wicked game. There's two actually. One is kind of a puyo/tetris attack vs cpu mash up with a story about blocking out the sun with highrises, and the other is the old NES game with the 100 screens with the SNES visuals.

Not a huge pokemon fan, but I really enjoyed Pokemon Brown (GB).

Kaizo Mario (SNES) is hilarious

Phantasy Star (SMS) retranslation hack... really makes the story much more coherent and names fit the series better.

Mario Kart R (SNES)
