Anyone own a 3d printer? Need a case for GBS-C!

Post by Lodestar »

Hi there!

So, I finally finished my first-ever mod project and I gotta say, as someone who just learned soldering and spent over a month learning about this project from Rama, I want to explore other mods with my other retro consoles.

That said, I need a case to put the GBS-C in, there are some blueprints online and I just need someone to create it. Willing to pay of course, hope some of you can help!

Maybe just get your own 3D printer? Monoprice makes some really affordable 3D printers that get good reviews, I've been wanting to get one myself. At this point, there's so many shared models online that getting a 3D printer is almost like getting a 2D printer to print pictures you find online even if you never create any images yourself.

If you've caught the maker/modder bug, then a 3D printers will definitely be a good investment.

Congrats on the succesfull mod. I haven't had a chance to put mine together yet.

I don't have a 3D printer, but I had a case for my GamePi15 kit printed up by these guys

They did a great job and the price was very fair IMO.

Might be worth checking your local library, especially if you are in a college/more urban town. They often have 3D printers you can use for cheap.

Oh wow, that's awesome! I'm pretty sure my local library doesn't have one, but even if it did I think I would still like to get my own one day. That's awesome though, it reminds me of using the copier at the library back in the day.

My high school held the towns library for a while (I think they might have changed it now) but because the engineering/robotics classes used 3D printers, they were available through the library in some fashion. I don't remember how it worked exactly unfortunately, as I was a student and just asked my friends that ran the IT department to print things for me.

Winning response! Local library had a printer and I sent it over to them. Thanks for the idea!

Let this be a lesson that your local public library is probably awesome, even more awesome than you think it is, and that they deserve your support (and funding!).
