This should be interesting. Currently only working on v3.10 DVD players.

Worth noting it's apparently similar to ESR which has been around for years but works in conjunction with FMCB. You launch the app, then boot an ESR patched ISO on a burned DVD. Honestly, this method seems like more work considering how easy HDD loading is ... but cool development for slims here without HDD capabilities.

Hope to see this expand.

So I just skimmed through the blog and it sounds like you would still have to patch the disc image with the ESR tool and that it's possible (if someone creates the tool because he didn't want to) to chain his exploit together with ESR so that the game will boot without having to load the ESR app first. Is that correct? Having to load the app first isn't the annoying part for me, but having to patch the disc images is.

Yeah, I'm thinking technically it has to be a patch, working like a combo boot disc & ISO burn.

MVG just posted a video. Haven't had a chance to watch yet with my schedule today, but he normally dives pretty deep:

I won't sugar coat it. You can't put this kind of genie back into the bottle. In due time there will be selfboot PS2 games out there, as simple to run as the Dreamcast.

I might have to look into this. Though, having to patch all those games might suck.

Would be cool to see it carry over to PSX Launcher running burns as POPS is about 80% compatible for PS1 on PS2.
