Have there been rumblings of a rerelease? I vaguely recall Mother 3 coming out on the Japanese Wii U VC but never any news after that.

They'd have to steal the fan translation unless they've been sitting on one (if they chose to finally localize it).

I...honestly don't see it happening. Nintendo seems to be pretty clear that they just aren't interested in doing it.

Having said that, if they do decide to release it I'd buy the game immediately.

Has something specific happened to give you this suspicion?

I’m under the impression June is when all things Mother get released in the West. This is also 25 year anniversary. Fingers crossed!
