Only an assumption.. but us Americans probably never got SCART merely because composite and RGB SCART 'look' identical physically.
Secondly... yes the Saturn can handle 480p... look it up. i could give you sources, but I don't think Wikipedia is legitimate enough and there are tons of googled websites you can get and I don't have any technical data sheets to upload or know where the pdf files could be found on the internet.
dude. chill. so it is exactly what I thought based on what you said.EU and Asian SCARTS aren't both SCART the Asian one is called something different. They look identical, but the pin out is different... as I SAID.
