I saw Speed Racer in theatres. My concept would have been better.

Well, I just watched Guillermo del Toro's El Espinazo del Diablo(The Devil's Backbone). I enjoyed the film immensely, the ghost is very well designed, and some of the shots are great. The quick flash of Jacinto standing in the field looking up at the school for instance...great job. Or when Carlos stops in the hallway and the camera moves over his shoulder to reveal the ghost at the far end of the hallway...God, that was classic. It didn't really scare me, which was a shame as I'd heard this was a really frightening film, but it did creep me out in a few places(and gross me out at one point...if you've seen it, you probably know which scene).

You know, everything Guillermo del Toro has done that I've seen, I've enjoyed. Kudos to him for his entire career.

Nah, it's cool. Pan's Labyrinth was a phenomenal film in its own right, a great companion piece. If you get some time, check out the rest of The Devil's Backbone. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Well, just watched Fritz Lang's M. Another great performance by Peter Lorre, if I do say so myself, and I do. Too bad 8 minutes of the film have been lost, but it's still an enjoyable work. We had a discussion on here about the same subject the film covers, and while I don't enjoy the final conclusion of the film, I find it funny that we've been talking about it this long. Oh well...

I really liked the movie, though I don't think it's for everyone. Still...greatest DVD menu ever. Peter Lorre hiding in an attic, waiting as the watchmen locks the doors... It's got a slight jump when it loops, but other than that, it's good.

On Friday night, I saw "Gumby Dharma" on Sundance. It's a documentary about Art Clokey, creator of Gumby and "Davey and Goliath". I wanted to then also watch "Privilege" (playing right after the former), but I was WAY too tired.

Then the next night, I saw that movie "The Love Guru". There were some laughs to be had, but sadly it's only a rental IMO.

I totally forgot to post. I watched On the Waterfront a few nights ago, staring Marlon Brando. I'd say it's definitely up there amongst his best works. Of course, I consider most of the movies I've seen him in to be his best works...

I don't remember a dog. It starts with Marlon Brando holding a pigeon, yelling at a guy in a window to meet him up on the roof.
