The comic seems a little on-the-nose, but the YouTuber is far worse.

I couldn't disagree more about the YouTuber. Worse than Marvel characters Snoflake, Safespace and Dorabeetus? Haha
Marvel just defecated on Stan lee's grave.
I'm not surprised though. This forum has always seemed like a far left, safe space type of place.
Enjoy the comics

I didn't watch the video, but I looked up the comic. I never read New Warriors in any iteration and don't have a connection to it. Not sure I would have enjoyed it trying to be "hip" at any point, so this doesn't really connect for me...though Trailblazer reminds me a little of Cloak for the alternate dimensional space powers. I'm guessing they'll play it more like a hammerspace anime gag, and unless the writing is solid, this could just feel cheap and derivative really fast.
Anybody who is still into the comic scene have experience with this book?

As someone who struggles with weight issues and is thus at higher risk of diabetes, I find that outright offensive. So maybe don’t do that.

Re: Marvel's New Warriors Looks AMAZING!
New Warriors was sort of an attempt at the Teen Titans for Marvel. Like most things comics it has people who are really into it but most are meh. They have been pretty irrelevant for years as a team, probably most notable for being where Nova got his start and being the inciting incident for the first Civil War. They were always supposed to be super cool dudes though, their leader Night Thrasher got about on a skateboard. Radical.
I don't really get what market Marvel thinks they are chasing with this new iteration of the NW but at least this looks like satire and not another godawful earnest attempt to be "woke" like they did with Miss America.
As for CriticalDrinker, his videos are usually pish and people like him, Nerdrotic, et al disappoint me as they all seem smart enough to be proper critics but demean themselves and their audience by slinging lazy anti-SJW stuff around because they'd rather get clicks than do any real thinking.

I'm not worried about offending people, so maybe not
Man, people have become so incredibly weak. Thanks for proving secondary point tho, cheers.

I can’t say this New Warriors team looks particularly interesting, but who knows. It does bother me that the mere though of having a plus size girl on a team is somehow an offense to the “complicated” characters comics are supposed to have. If the writer gives her a good personality and interesting stuff to do, great! I did love the shit out of the no-longer-very-new Ms. Marvel and a lot of folks balked at the idea of some teenage Muslim girl who doesn’t wear a spandex bikini for a costume. Turns out a good writer can write a good story with a good character. Who knew?
