My kids and I spent some time hiking the trails behind my house. The ground is still hard and icy, but the fresh air is welcome.

My oldest has had school cancelled for two weeks; three for my youngest. My wife is only seeing patients with emergency eye injuries and must wear PPE. Her regular appointments cancelled for six weeks.

Stay safe.

Getting some spring (albeit wet) weather here in Dallas. UTSW hasn't closed outright yet, but my wife is effectively working from home for the near future. Some neighboring labs had some exposure at some point to a person with the virus, but it's unknown if it spread. Those folks are self-quarantining.

We've been walking some nearby paths (not much in terms of outdoorsy space that isn't already populated by lots of people) and that's definitely helping. People are still not getting the social isolation bit, which is driving me nuts. Like, we're walking down a path, and we make an effort to give a wide berth, but there's no recitivism.

Reciprocity. Recidivism is when people out of prison crime again.

Sorry to hear about that, PH. That's nothing to mess around with. Probably best to deal with it sooner rather than later. You're worth the effort. Take care.

I still have some self-awareness, but it might not last for too much longer. Will see if I can still work but if not it might be hospital time. Still I'd rather give a hospital bed to someone with the virus instead.

Work is actually helping quite a bit fortunately. Still got some self awareness so I should be ok for now. Last year it was that I was a terrorist suspect of a blown up bus (the bus never arrived) and that the military was after me. This year it's nazis and my partner's roommates are collaborating to make me leave the left. It's interesting to see what my brain tries to convince me to believe

(Businessman stocks, not stocks of food n' supplys lol)

EDIT: Oh, and i use a Bum Gun so my stash of TP will last a year, easy.

No joke Derp... 401K & Roth took a hit. Luckily we're young & in it for the long haul. All our parents, if nearing retirement are worried.

I wanted to share this well done visual dashboard on live COVID19 stats by John Hopkins:

COVID19 Dashboard by The Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at JHU

I recommend taking a look on a PC or tablet. They did a great job. There's a mobile view option, via right "menu lines" of top banner. Hard to find accurate information. Hope that helps.

Could be possible there’s a drop of it on every disinfectant, toilet paper etc, and sales are booming, stay safe in case of the probability of mutation.

I'm no doctor, but I'm thinking that a virus cannot live outside of another living cell, at least most viruses cannot for more than a moment. So any dry goods should be safe from a virus. Bacteria and fungi are another matter altogether.

The real problem is the people who handle our food and who stock our shelves. You know... the people who don't make much money and who might not be able to afford healthcare. I don't mean to get political, but a pandemic is a reminder that we really need to make sure everyone can get healthcare.

Related to that Samson...

On a socioeconomic level, many hourly workers don't get paid PTO or sick time. Thus encouraging them (or perhaps even receiving pressure depending on business culture) to come to work sick in order to make ends meat. Many (not all) hourly positions then also interface with the public, make food, clean, etc... you can see how that scenario quickly compounds an issue around communal spread.
